I already thought of a Final Smash for him, appropriately titled: U.O.ME

It works as like a trap, so if you use it next to a player, they get caught and Nook pulls out a document, then you mash buttons until time runs up (the more times you hit them the more damage you do) and he smack it onto the players, and as Bells are sucked out of them while causing damage the Bells are sucked into Tom Nook's wallet!

My guess that it has something to do with Animal Crossing U. Think about it. New Leaf was very successful and Nintendo did an interview before this year's E3 (a year after the game was released, mind you), the Animal Crossing Plaza is ending soon, and there's a few games supporting DLC with Animal Crossing characters. I'm almost certain that we'll be hearing an announcement for the next AC sometime next year.

I'm not sure what you mean. The Wii U is the next home console. It's not an addition to the Wii despite the poor marketing choice. Wild World came out in 2005 and City Folk came out in 2008. That's only a three year difference and since New Leaf was more succesful than City Folk, they may be releasing the new game early 2016. The HD graphics have already been pre-rendered a well, look at the Plaza and MK8.
