Today I Learned: New Horizons Edition

that's such a hyperspecific thing for them to implement i love it. maybe it's just me but there's not too many circumstances where you're playing the game you share with someone who hasn't already upgraded to a house, who still has the radio in their tent and has had it turned on, and their tent is in a place where you would happen to stick around long enough that you hear the radio. maybe it's more likely than i think it is but it's still a really nice attention to detail

someone may have mentioned this (you'll have to forgive me for not wanting to search through the 110 other pages) but i just found out, if a villager asks you to catch a fish and you offer them an extremely rare one, the game gives you an option to change your mind. (i assume this is also the case for bugs.)

i learned this because i forgot the barreleye was so rare because it wasn't in new leaf. but rowan was so happy, even though we're not close i'd feel so bad if i took it back...i spent the next half hour or so trying to find another one to no avail. it's really not a big deal, i have more than enough bells and i'd already donated the barreleye to the museum, but it does sting a little that i essentially lost 15k bells from my ignorance.

What! Oh, I had no idea about the rare fishes! Veeery cool!

Today I learned that the Sanrio villagers aren't tradeable which is a bummer because I can't find my amiibo card for Chelsea. I have all the others. I'm going to have to go through all my stuff to find it. Maybe it's being used as a bookmark in a book I put down. Maybe I was using it on my break at work and left it somewhere in my messy cubicle drawers. No Chelsea and no My Melody furniture for awhile. On a side note, I appreciate the Sanrio villagers more now that I've also played Hello Kitty Island Adventure. I didn't really know much about the characters being referenced before HKIA.
