I've been resetting over and over again for Roald to put his house beside Merengue but he keeps putting his house where Rudy's house used to be (or a few squares above/to the sides) or he puts his house below my pathing by the train station.

Is there any way to make him move his house elsewhere? I've noticed it's generally these two spots he puts his house by.

I don't think there's much you can do now unfortunately.

For the future though, you can always place PWPs in areas where you don't want villagers to move in so that it's more likely they'll move into specific spots :).

Aw man :( I'm really struggling to get Roald in the right place so I can keep designing my town.
I took out all PWP cause I was in the middle of redesigning when I got Roald D:

since you haven't saved at any point during the resetting you can go back to yesterday and place a fence pwp in one of those areas to stop him from moving there. you don't need to pay for it, just start it. This might not work if in game yesterday was halloween since it was an event, but if I were you I'd try to TT to yesterday before 6 pm and see if you can place one. ^^

then you can just TT to 5:58 am on the current date, wait a little and continue plot resetting.

also i've heard of hard resetting by completely turning the game off once in a while to shake the pattern up a little..

Also!!! make sure that he can actually move in where you want him to be, if there are too many buildings in the area already it might not be possible.

I've been on October 1st since.... October 1st XDDDD
I'll try with the PWP thing. Maybe putting it in Rudy's old house will make Roald move a bit closer to where I want him to be.
It's by the river but I know they can have their houses a few square away from the river since I have a few other villagers that live by the river.

Cry and make comfort snacks, then tearfully continue to plot reset.

Yeah, basically, lmao. Just keep trying. It may take hours, days, or even weeks to get Roald in the right spot. But, if you keep at it, it should work out eventually.

Already done both ahahaha.
I'm just plot resetting as a side thing to do while tearfully studying for midterms. Not sure if the tears are from studying or from plot resetting but I'll go with studying

Try resetting different ways. For example press the power button if you normally just press the home button and exit out. I'm not sure if this actually works but one time it did for me, but I can't say for sure if the two are directly related.

I've heard about that too and it didn't really do anything when I powered down my DS. I think I just have to keep trying with resetting and maybe the PWP as well
