Sometimes, due to my schedule, I'm playing a little too late or a little too early for anything to be open (even with ordinances, although ordinances wouldn't solve the issue since my schedule would still be irregular). If I fast forward or move back a few hours each day, when I go back to normal time does it still count as a day having passed? For example, if I set the clock two hours forward when I'm playing very early in the morning so I can go to the shops, when I set it back two hours again will it make a full day have passed? I've tried something like this yesterday, that time I set the clock forward by about 12 hours. When I returned to normal time, the villager who was moving in had already built his house and a new villager was moving in. Can someone explain to me how this works?

Thanks in advance.

Um, I'm trying to figure out the maths in my head here... Hm ok. I play similarly as in, moving by two hours or so around the day, and I haven't noticed it affect the game. I.e. Nobody new moves in, the shop stays the same. HOWEVER this is always staying within the same day, if you accidentally or not pass on to the next day and then go back to *yesterday* (today) then that will count as a day passing.

Is that right? Did it make sense??

Thank makes sense. Yeah, I TTed in the morning. It was after midnight so I TTed to the next day so I could do some shopping. Then the next morning, I TTed back to regular time (which was around 5 or 6 AM, makes sense) so I could finish up some things before leaving the house and that's probably where that came from. So if I TT back and forward within a same day between 6 AM and midnight, that should be fine?

A new day in NL starts at 6AM, so you can TT however you like as long as you don't pass 6AM.

I think you should be fine like that c:

Well, I do something similar to this. Basically, the way I think of it is, does the game know I am time traveling? For example, if it's real time 9:00 a.m., but I set the clock to 7:00 a.m., hop on and play... and the next time I hop on it's noon real time and in the game, the game is none the wiser. As far as the game knows, time has just flowed normally.

The only time you "get into trouble" is when you replay the same time frame again. But as long as you just keep going forward in the game, when you jump on and off doesn't really matter. I hope this isn't confusing, I don't know if I conveyed what's in my head correctly.

Oh, another thing, there aren't too many things that go wrong even if you play the same time frame over again. Turnips will rot, things may change in the stores, etc. but it's not that devastating.
