Time travel questions?

First of all,I was wondering if I took the game out of my 3DS, changed the system clock, then put the game back in, would it still effect the game clock?

Secondly, is it safe to make a large jump backwards in time? I've heard it only counts as one day but im not sure.

It definitely only counts as one day
I travel like up to over a week ahead (one day at a time) sometimes and jump back to the current date in one big jump all the time
