Since unlocking island designer and all the aspects of it, I've been going mad terraforming and trying to get things just right! Still got a long way to go as don't TT, but most of the buildings are in the right place now so figured it'd be a good time to get some feedback/suggestions/constructive criticism from a fresh pair of eyes! Would really appreciate thoughts, like maybe what does and doesn't work or what might annoy me down the line that I hadn't thought of, etc etc. Please and thank you!

AFTER (btw the river opening into the sea on the right will be going somewhere, just haven't decided exact positioning yet!):

i love your use of extra houses !! people don't take advantage of that enough i feel. so clever to do then as restaurants and such. (y)

for annoyances, i do wonder how accessible the rest of your town is with your house that far in a corner and a river blocking you off, or how travelling across the river might feel at the bottom portion of the map w no bridge more north - but i like being in the midsts of my town. for ideas, might be cute to use the area in front of the restaurants for a massive outdoor seating area split into two themes (beautiful new leaf trellis, i miss you)?

First of All I think your town is shaping over very nicely. I can tell it has a very good layout that looks like it had alot of time and consideration put into it. I also loveee the section for your house, it feels so luxurious m. That being said, I suggest two things
-The Villager houses are cramped. I assume you are moving all the houses to the cliff, and i think that is an excellent idea. Just make sure the houses are spaced out
-If you are moving all the houses, i notice that there is a huge area in the middle pf the island that is empty. I personally suggest moving the museum a little bit closer, or utilizing the are for something else. Some ideas: Orchard, Forest, Park
Other than that I think its a really good layout. I hope this helps!

Thanks both, some awesome ideas!! Should really have mentioned - will definitely be more bridges!! Just skint at the minute and been spending all my money on inclines and moving buildings but yep will create much better access to and from my house! Love love love the idea of a large outside seating area in front of the restaurant and pub, will totally be doing that and will feel really town centre-y!! Also didn't think too much about that empty area once the houses are all moved (and yep they'll be moved to housing area - thanks for the tip about not putting them too close together!) - good point and thanks for the ideas! I'm hoping to put some market stalls somewhere but has to stay pretty close to town centre, maybe I could do something with those there??

Thanks so much for the feedback so far, really helpful :D

I love seeing how people work with their town!!

I am blown away by the use of extra houses to serve as restaurants and such, I had never thought of that but it's actually really great!!!

I also have some concerns about your house being so far from everything, I also put my home in a secluded area with waterfalls and all and now I kinda miss being over to the plaza in a few steps, but it probably just takes some getting used to. That said, I do recommend you'd try and make things happen around your home so you won't feel too "lonely"

As per my personal taste I would also suggest creating even more shapes into the cliffs so it doesn't look so "blocky", but that's because I like a more untamed look and curves everywhere.

I really like the little step stones bridge, and I'm excited to check out what you'll do with the residential area!

I saw some cute tiny island in the middle of a river recently, I think it could look good on the left of your museum, if you're looking for ideas :)

I'd love to see some in game pictures once you get things in order and feel like sharing!! ☺

Same here, I love looking through the 'share your map' thread and seeing what others have done! Thank you - I can't take credit for the idea of the extra houses, iirc it was pretty commonly done back in NL or at least the phase when I was most active on here, loved the idea so did the same! Definitely a cool idea though, gives an extra aspect and goal to the gameplay and so fun to design these places!!

Get what you mean but I love my house being sort of far away from things - guess I've always done it so never really bothered me but get where you're coming from! And definitely agree about shapes in the cliffs so they look more natural - been keeping them simple for now whilst getting things positioned, but 100% plan to make them more natural, thanks!

Cheers, wasn't too sure about the stepping stones so glad you like them! Hard as wanted something centred on museum however bridges being 2 wide won't centre! So unsure if I should go with an off-centre bridge there, or keep the stepping stones - I do feel like they could fit in well in that area!

Like the idea of a cute little island too - maybe something I could think about for the soon to be empty area towards bottom right of town centre!

Thanks, look forward to being at a point where I can post lots of cute pictures of everything! And thanks for the compliments :D
