Thoughts about the fall color palette in AC?

I honestly love the Autumn colours!! 🍁 All the warm colours and the red, yellow and orange trees all seem very beautiful and cosy to me. I just wish it went on for longer! I’d love to see those red trees and red falling leaves a little longer.. but I absolutely adore winter too so I’m excited for that!

honestly, i love the autumn colours, the warm reds are so nice! i do also apreciate the spring and summer colours, but there's just something about autumn.

I fell in love with the way tree leaves were colored when they started changing. I loved seeing all trees in different colors. Now everything has this strong red hue, which I still like, but I liked it better when one tree had yellow leaves, the next one had orange leaves, and so on. I also think I like fall weeds more than any other (except for winter weeds, which I don't know what they look like).

I love how the trees looks, especially the red trees, but I really don't like the grass colour. It makes all my flower combinations and paths look terrible. The only area that looks okay is a new section I made with some orange hyacinths but even that is drowned out at certain times of the day. I‘m also not fond of the holly bushes. Autumn is nice but summer is still my favourite season!

Fall started poorly, I think, when the grass and leaves all acquire this icky-sickly shade of jaundice. I didn't like it. But as the days wore on, and more orange and red hues come into play, it got better. Towards the end of autumn, all the trees looked magnificent with their red leaves. The grass, though, still not so good.

The flowers I have on my island looked out of place in fall. If only the game allowed the flowers to wilt and die in autumn, disappear completely in winter, and then grow back (without our having to replant with seeds) in all the same spots where they were before. 🤔

i personally love the fall palette in comparison to the summer one; if i had to chose one or the other to keep, i'd definitely go with fall for my island. i've always loved autumn a lot more than any other season, especially for all the colours, so i could just be a little biased about it 🤷‍♀️

either way, the seasons have been beautiful thus far and i can't wait to see what the snow brings.

I prefer the fall colors over the summer colors. The aesthetics are more beautiful and cozy. It really compliments the woodsy look and feel too

I remember not liking the colour of the grass when transitioning from summer to fall. But with time, I kind of forgot the look of the summer grass, so the colour stopped bothering me after a while.
Besides the grass, I love every single other colour palettes of fall. The change in colours of the trees and their leaves as you get closer to maple season, is just gorgeous for me.

Although I like the fall, its color pallet in AC unfortunately does not go with my themes. In NL I had a spring/pastel theme that looked horrible in the fall, and now in NH I have a summer/bright theme (with purple, blue, and pink flowers) that also does not look good at this time of year. One day I want to do a fall themed island/town so I can fully appreciate its colors!

Summer is a way better fit for my island. I mean, the autumn is fine but it just clashes with the theme of my island. Plus, I honestly think that the trees look wierd when the leaves are red.

I LOVE the autumn colors! But that said, I can't deny that it's kind of odd to have this happening on an island that seemed so tropical before. If you really want your island to match the general aesthetics all of the time, you'll have to change your colors. Personally, I have way too many flowers on my island at this point. It would take me FOREVER to dig them all up and get rid of them and what not. And so many colors you want at certain times are hybrid colors, and can take a while to get the amount you might need. When it comes to flowers, I think you really just have to deal with either having a ton and letting them be - like I do - or seeing them not match the general look of the season.

But I have started to realize that now that we've had autumn for the past couple of months now, I'm sort of starting to miss the greens of summer. Of course winter is coming, and that's a new season to experience, so I'm excited for that. But I already know that by the time January comes around, I'll be over it... pretty much like how I am in real life when it comes to the cold and snow. Then I'll be looking forward to March for sure...

I find Autumn colors putrid, both in real life, and especially in the game, they really made it look like someone mixed puke, mud, and blood, and then drenched my entire island in it, can't wait for Winter.
This is like the funniest response in this thread lol

Same here! I much preferred when the trees just started changing there was more variety in colors. I'm not that big a fan of how every single maple tree is red now, it looks weirdly unnatural.

That's honestly a perfect way to describe how the fall colors looked at first LOL it was indeed jaundiced. The grass looked so putrid at first before the trees had a chance to catch up. I also love the idea of flowers wilting away for the autumn--maybe they could take on the appearance of flowers when you first pick the buds off, so they're only stems. That reminds me that I've always found it peculiar how the trees have leaves all-year round...I understand pines are evergreens, but it would be cool to see maple trees be completely barren in the winter.

I actually really love the autumn colors, especially during the maple season, where all the trees turned into different shades of orange/red. It looks really cozy and very pretty as the colors have so much depth. It also so happens that I’m using a version of the path that fits nicely into the warm fall color scheme. Also, I think it helps that I only plan using white flowers (and possibly black flowers too) in my town haha. If I have pink/blue/purple flowers though they would certainly look a bit more out of place as the cool tones don’t mix well with the warm tones of fall.

All that being said, I’m also incredibly excited for winter. I’ve seen videos where people time traveled and are already playing in winter seasons and idk but the snow just looks soooo good in this game! I can’t wait for my island to get covered in snow (Erik’s cabin would look so incredibly cozy hehe)

I love the Fall colors because where I live currently I don’t get to see it at all. The reds, oranges, yellows and browns are so pretty to me, so I definitely love it.

I liked it a bit better in previous games. It still looked a bit weird, but it wasn't too bad either.

So yeah, I don't really like it. When i'm walking through my island, I feel like i'm walking through an enchanted forest aesthetic which doesn't feel right, since my island's theme is a mix between an open countryside-suburb... thing.
maybe i just hate fall in animal crossing idk

I don't experience fall where I live so I only have a rough idea of what it should look like in pictures. I do like the palette somewhat. The yellows can be a bit intense at times, but the reds and oranges are absolutely gorgeous. I feel like the transition color that we saw in Sept/Oct was a bit off-putting. A bit too pukey green imo... I think my only real complaint about the fall palette is that because the ground is yellowish, it makes the buried bells glowing spot difficult to see unless your playing when it's dark out.

I'm really looking forward to winter, though. It looks so beautiful in this game.

I like it and hate it :] My island looks very overgrown and creepy right now, which kind of fits the colours of the grass and trees - but this wasn't the vibe I wanted my island to have! D: I

I don't think blue flowers would look that bad with the fall colors at all, but that might just be me! Orange and blue are complementary so I think blue would look pretty cool, but I think I'd have to test that out first LOL it may look terrible for all I know. I use a lot of white flowers as well since they're neutral, and those don't look too shabby with all the oranges and reds rn :)
