Thoughts about the fall color palette in AC?

I have a pretty natural island, so it works with all the seasons (so far). Autumn is my favorite time of year, so I may be biased toward the colors.

My main island is pink themed so it really looks odd with all of my colorful decor. The grass color being so dull and yellow-y really clashes with my paths and with a lot of my villagers homes even. I find everyday I’m more and more eager for winter to come so at least it will be icy not dull.

That said my other island is natural themed and I’m really going to miss the red trees and mush furniture. I guess it really depends on what theme you have on your island!

I like the fall colors but I definitely understand your pink flowers being washed out. Fall is pretty but it’s hard when you have other color flowers. The white of winter let’s any color stand out and summer and spring greens go well with the flowers as well. The trees in fall are so pretty but it comes at the price of your flowers lol

I like the palette for the most part! But agree with some of the complaints - my native flower is tulip, and the pink ones especially looked totally out of season. It really made me wish there was a way to store flowers, like a greenhouse.

I think they look great, I’ve designed my island so that no part of it is permanent which means I can always change it to fit each season / my personal taste. The only time I’ve found the colors really overwhelming is when the sun sets and everything is just eye blindingly orange overload

I really hope so I've always adored winter in AC so now I have even more of a reason to look forward to it lol. I also know that a lot of snowflake/winter decor can be customized to be pink, so I'm excited for that

Oh, I wasn't aware that many winter season items had pink as one of the customization option! Pink is also one of my favourite colours, so I'm looking forward to the winter season even more now. Just a few more weeks!

Omg I was just thinking that about my island as I turned the game on a bit ago. The sun was setting, so everything was practically glowing orange lol.
I also find it very admirable that you redecorate so many parts of your island regularly I'm way too lazy for that LOL

I don't like the colour of the grass. I love the trees now but the grass I feel should've been darker like NL;

NH grass looks like a murky yellow/orange while NL grass is deeper orange/brown. NL looks less 'sickly'.

However the CF grass looked horrible imo and I'm glad they went away from the almost purple grass lol

LMAO I forgot entirely about the purple grass in CF. It did look bizarre and overall just....not good. At all. I'm not sure what they were thinking with that one.

I don't think it helped that in this game, it took forever for the leaves to change colors. They slowly started getting like dark sickly green colors until finally having like regular brown fall colors, but there wasn't any in between. My memory of the previous games might be wrong, but I recalled there was a bit of time where the leaves had brighter orange/brown tints to them. Instead of going straight to dark green to dark brown.

And the trees also didn't all change at the same time. So you had dark green, brown, green ect. It just looked a bit weird.

I honestly prefer when the trees in AC are varying colors simultaneously! It looks odd that every single maple tree is red right now, instead of there being a variety of different colors like there were a few weeks ago. When you walk outside in the fall IRL there are trees of so many different colors... a few weeks ago, my front yard had a bright yellow tree, a dark red tree, a yellowish green tree, and a green tree. It's an odd choice imo for the developers to make all the trees the exact same shade of red right now lol.

I don't know what an abundance of pink and white looks like in this game with orange, but I think those colors go good with orange. Maybe it's not the correct shade. I do appreciate different seasons. When the snow starts falling, it's going to look beautiful I bet. But after several days, it'll probably become less special, so when spring arrives, it'll look pretty! I'm just going off of what I remember in the GameCube version. Each season feels special, even though we have our favorites.

I saw one of the posters above had photo references after I posted my reply already. So I get to see all the different fall color schemes in each of the games (except PG and WW) I can't remember those two that well, it's been so long ago. And I never played CF, but dang that grass looks like it would be murder on my eyes lol.

I realize now that it's also because the colors in NL and CF for the leaves popped out more. In NH it looks like they're going for that grayscale look that back in the day we coined Xbox colors (like Halo) because they were more bland and had this air that it made it more 'mature'

My pink and white flowers don't look awful or anything, don't get me wrong, they just don't stand out as much as they used to when the grass was green they do still look pretty though! It's just a different vibe now.

I have complex feelings! I feel like the grass can be too yellowed at times, so I feel like I'm in a blockbuster movie set in the middle east, but I love the look of it on trees. And of course I love the orange trees! I suppose it's pretty realistic. I'm excited to see what winter snow looks like - I miss the crunch!

The fall color palette grew on me, especially after the trees started turning red.

However, nothing beats summer and spring to me.
I miss the green, and I miss how colorful everything was.

I think the 10 days of maple leaf season have been rather lovely but overall, the autumn color palette is disappointing. I'm dreading the first half of December. It's probably going to be kind of gross looking before snow shows up on the 16th.

It's okay on its own. I like the blue flowers on the weeds and the contrast between the grass and the blue rivers. But depending on the outdoor decor it will either look great or terrible. I have a lot of white furniture and it doesn't look very good in autumn, but I'm not planning on changing everything since I know it will likely look fantastic in winter.
