Thoughts about the fall color palette in AC?

My question is pretty much summed up by the title, but I'll go into more detail in case it sounds stupid lol.

I've just gotten really curious about what others think about the overall autumn color palette in the game-- with all of the vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds, and then those little periwinkle flowers on the weeds. While I think it looks lovely, I actually really miss the greens from spring and summer a lot. I feel like the oranges of the fall clash with most of how my island is decorated, since I use mainly pink and white. All of my pink flowers are getting drowned out at this point.

Does anyone have a similar sentiment as me? Anyone's island color schemes not working out well with the autumn colors--or the opposite? I know a few people chose to decorate with limited colors of flowers like I have, so I was wondering how that was turning out for anyone else with the change of grass colors and all that jazz

I hate fall colors, prefer the brightness of summer :'0 its just too dull for my aesthetic

I like the dullness of fall. I had a hard time telling the color difference between summer and spring. I would need to see them side by side to tell that summer has a much brighter green.

I'm playing in the southern hemisphere but I didn't start until october so I missed out on having autumn and honestly I can't wait for it!! my island is pretty cozy and rustic so I think it would go a lot better with my aesthetic than the bright greens of spring and summer

I'm adept at telling the difference merely because New Horizons is my 3rd AC game at this point lol. I just know that summer grass is more blue-tinted, and spring grass is more yellow-tinted (if I'm remembering properly...). It's definitely a subtle difference though, especially when you play often!

I don’t necessarily hate the fall color pallette, like it definitely looks beautiful and I’ve seen so many people have amazing designs matching it and it looks great. I’m with you though. My island is mostly pink with hints of other rainbow colors, and I’m currently trying to decorate. So I actually time traveled back to the beautiful summer haha so that I can decorate while using that color pallette, and then maybe by the time I’m done it’ll be winter and our beautiful pink flowers will look pretty in the snow. That’s what I’m hoping for!

i love fall colors irl. this year we had an especially pretty one for some reason - tons of beautiful vibrant scarlet reds and canary yellows and... orange oranges... lol.

in ACNH, though... it's just red. very boring. pretty, but boring. wish they'd added yellow and orange to the palette.

I enjoy the dull, cold feel of the fall palette. The summer palette is too bright in my opinion, the trees and grass have always had a really strange shade of green during spring and summer in most of the games.

I feel more immersed in the game when it's more dull, desaturated, and misty looking... probably because where I live is also dull, desaturated, and misty looking a large majority of the time. But hey, that's England for ya.

I love the fall palette. It’s wonderful seeing the gradual changes over the months! It’s definitely better than spring for sure.

I like having distinct seasons and getting to decorate/redecorate accordingly, so I am enjoying the fall colour palette. It inspired me to pick up the game again and continue working on my island.

I think it's ok, but I'd like it if the weeds were less brown and subdued. I liked that the tree foliage was all different colors in the fall - it reminded me of my own neighborhood's trees.

I can totally see why people don't like the fall colors though! The grass is kinda disappointingly dead, not going to lie.

I'm 200% looking forward to how much our pink flowers are gonna shine in the winter LOL they are so easy to overlook rn with how muddy and orange everything is...I don't have it in me to TT back to when the grass was green, though.

I remember logging into AC just as the grass started getting that weird shade of chartreuse/greenish yellow and I was in so much distress lol. Everyday it kept getting worse and worse!! I've never seen the grass colors change so quickly in only so few days, I thought the progression of grass color changes was a lot more spread out in past games. I was like "omg when is it going to stop turning so yellow???"

I actually like the fall colour scheme and it hasn't bothered me yet, as my island is unfinished. I was thinking of designing an autumn-themed area for Poppy and Marshal, so this is the perfect season!

I think that every season has their own charm; however, I understand that it may not match everyone's island design. I also worry that some of my ideas won't match every season, which is why I try to diversify my themes, so that at least one part of my island would match a given season's colour palette!

I agree, every season does look cute in its own way! It's only fall for a few months at a time, anyway, so it isn't the end of the world that my island's design doesn't look its best for a little while.

I don’t mind it. As a matter of fact I think it fits in with my natural ish theme, but it is kinda dull.

I like how autumn looks, however I agree that it can clash with outdoor decor. Also, I've got a jungle in the top left of my island, and it looks terrible in autumn >.>

Agreed, and months fly by pretty quickly (at least it does for me!). xD Despite not being at its best, I think the seasonal events compensate for it! I wonder how your pink/white themed island would look like in winter; I'm sure the pink would be even more vibrant. :3

I really hope so I've always adored winter in AC so now I have even more of a reason to look forward to it lol. I also know that a lot of snowflake/winter decor can be customized to be pink, so I'm excited for that
