this one feature is ruining the game for me...

I've got someone moving in right next to my original bridge which I was hoping to replace once someone suggested a nicer style bridge. But now if I demolish it and try and place another one I'm sure Isabelle would say it's too close to the house

I have a small town island near the bottom of the map and so far I have 6 of my 9 villagers crowding it up. I barely had enough room to place a small park in my town... There's all this other space in my town, but they seemed to prefer the island better. Probably cause it's more accessible to the beach... But still!

omg LOL It's San Diego.

Aww I read that post and that's just awful :( I know that would annoy me a lot >~<

Yes, this does drive me insane! I wish we could choose where their houses go. Like, when a new one was moving in, Isabelle could say when you're loading "Hey, Mayor, So and So is moving in this morning, could you show us where you'd like the house?" Something along those lines. You shouldn't have to gamble with your flower/orchard placements. This would make the WHOLE game much better for those who really like to plan their town out. :)

I agree it would be nice if we could have some input where villagers dumped their houses. Fortunately the locations of my pwp's also coincide with places that it would be annoying for them to put their houses, (ie a fountain in front of the town hall, street lights by bridges etc) so I haven't had this problem myself.

Mine is just like this! But I'm learning to like it, because one of my friends said it was cute that I had a mini neighbourhood.

This is why no-one is leaving my village until I've placed all the major PWPs. I don't like a couple of my villagers but I can put up with them until the basic town layout is set. It's also why the dream suite is way down my list of PWPs - I want the 'main map' ones first.

When I started my game I picked a nice quiet spot far away from everyone near the beach, in the course of 3 days I gained 3 next door neighbors. You bet I wasn't happy.

This is exactly what happened to me. So frustrating! I have tons of open space for them to move into but for some reason they all have to move next to my house in the most inconvenient spots.

As a side note I use the Fence PW project to keep my rare hybrids safe. This way I don't have to worry about a house squishing them all.

Don't forget if you're a hybrid breeder you can also plant hybrids on the beach. Personally I have two of all my hybrids there in case the ones on my mainland get destroyed so I can plant them next to PWPs and breed them again, yes it's annoying but it works.

I had Graham move on front of my town hall too but I loved him so it was okay (he's moved away now though)
Blanche however moved into a spot that I couldn't forgive despite the fact I really wanted to keep her..... 2 spaces behind my house and taking out tonnes of flowers, bushes and half my path.... It feels like the game knows you want them out too as it seems to be harder to get them to leave!!! Lol
A PWP of house placement signs would have been a good idea really!

PLEASE VILLAGERS DON'T MOVE ON MY HYBRIDS. I have these huge gaps on my town map where no-one is so I plant hybrids. And then if a villager comes and moves on it I will hate them forever this probably won't last if its Mitzi

I don't mind that aspect of the game, though I can see how it would be frustrating. The joykill for me is the fact that you can inadvertantly inherit villagers that left other towns. Three times it's happened to me that a villager just left a foreign town and either I visted the village that just faced an eviction, or I let the mayor from that town into my village--and I end up getting the villager that just left that other village. Even though I may have had no interaction with the villager that left. The next day I'll have a house plot and so-and-so eventually moves in and introduces himself by saying they just moved here from the other village I interacted with. I really hate that.

I've given away villagers on the giveaway thread and I have a giveaway scheduled for today. However, I think it's going to be my last giveaway. When giving villagers to members of the board, a lot of times they need to make space for the villager they want so they TT to make a villager move. If it's a villager someone wants, someone will claim it. If it's an unpopular villager, it'll just be TT'd away. And then they'll come to my village to invite the villager I have that's leaving and I'll be saddled with their most recent castoff. It's like a communicable virus. I very well may have infected other villages with my castoffs for all I know. It dampens my enthusiasm for the game and completely kills my desire to give away villagers. Because of this, I won't let anyone into my main village.

Why dont any of you use the reset trick to chose where they move? xD Im just looking at all this like "...wut" On the day you're expecting a villagers plot to be put up, CREATE A NEW CHARACTER. See where their house plot is when you get off the train with rover, if you don't like it, repeat until you do. When you do like it, just go to town hall, build a tent ect until you can save as that new character. Then load the game again, delete that character IF YOU WANT, and then just carry on as usual. :D

I'm kind of getting used to them being there now. It somehow makes it easier to do deliveries. The three who aren't living on the island tend to walk around in that area instead of near their houses so I guess that's an advantage.
It really annoyed me earlier when two of them moved in while I was still getting my approval rating within the first two days of playing. Couldn't avoid those. What's worse was they were animals I really liked. Couldn't let them move after that. Why game?

Didn't know about the trick back then. I found out after they'd all moved onto the island. By then it was too late...

I guess I must be a really laid back player, because I don't really fret over where a character moves. Since I love all the characters, I know that eventually I will be sending them on their way to make room for someone new. Flowers can be regrown and replanted, so I really have no worries. I just continue to play the game for hours a day every chance I get.
