The rest of April's Nintendo Direct news

I don't know how they went so downhill with galaxy..

The mechanics is what I most disliked about Galaxy. I didn't like feeling weightless, or having to shake the nunchuck, and I felt it was extremely linear. Unlike Sunshine, where you could pretty much pick and choose where you wanted to go from the get go.
I'm not saying Galaxy wasn't fun, but I am saying that Sunshine is a billion times better and would love for it to have a sequel or something where it sticks to how it plays.

true, i did hate having to shake the wii-mote. Also in those sting ray races/bird races where you had to steer using the remote... God those were horrible.

Ultimate Mario Questions!
Sunshine (gamecube) vs Super Mario Brothers (Snes)
Which one is better graphic wise?
Storyline wise?
Battle system wise?
Overall?

Just curious to see what all answers I'll get.

Eventhough you said SNES, it's still not overly fitting. We're comparing graphics to the original Super Mario and one on Gamecube? Of course there isn't going to be a contest in that, unless you're going for at the time or some nonsense.
Same for Storyline, the old mario was as simple as can be. Whereas Sunshine had Bowser Jnr., new places, features etc.

Now, Super Mario Bros. 3 vs. Super Mario World.
THAT is a real tough question.

@Bidoof/Gallows: I loved both games. I beat galaxy 1 and 2 and got pretty far in Sunshine before I got to levels that I couldn't beat. Sunshine was more of a classic game and I loved everything about it, but I do think that that galaxy was great as well. They did some amazing things with the gravity, like how half the screen went up and the other down, and they had a lot of water levels, which are my favorite. Though sunshine did have water levels, galaxy had more. The galaxy "galaxies" were also very creative and interesting. However, I liked how you could actually explore the islands in sunshine, plus, the islands and levels made more sense in the plot. ie. You could play a level and see something on the island, and what you saw would come into play in the next level. I thought that was cool. I also liked the bonus/secret levels in sunshine, which galaxy kind of lacked. Both of the games are great, but if I had the option, I would play sunshine again.

I loved SMG and SMG2. The music of both games were amazing and the gameplay was awesome.

I haven't played Sunshine yet, but it seems like a pretty fun game. I've never had a Gamecube, so I wouldn't have known before how awesome some of the games were.

IMO Galaxy 1 and 2 were easy to complete.
Sunshine atleast had some challenge to it
maybe it was because i was younger when i played sunshine and my experience grew by the time i got galaxy.

No you're right, the Galaxy games were easier. But that's more to the fact that it stuck to traditional Mario levels and a less in depth level of exploration. The levels were fun, and really creative, and the games were great but it lacked in being able to really explore like you could in Sunshine. You really had to get the hang of Sunshine to start doing really well on it, but with Galaxy you could just pick it up and there wasn't really any level of effort into getting used to how it works, it was just easy.

I'm not dissing the Galaxy games, either. They were great, but Sunshine was by far a better game overall, just clearing that up.
