I think a lot of it is just how you view the opposite/same sex... if you see most things that are considered feminine as weak I think you are less likely to be able to be friends with most women... just as if you see most things considered masculine as over the top, and barbaric.

I've always been somewhere in between so never noticed anything like this personally, other than some friends having trouble with someone they are dating....

I disagree. I really think you can have a friendship without any sort of attraction, and just like them as a person.

I mean, I've never really had any sexual thought about my crushes, even. Definitely not with male friends. I don't think most people think about it that much, y'know? XD

But I guess it might be easier for romantic attachment to form if you got to know them and really like them as a person, or something.
