Movies you hate/dislike that are concidered to be great

Marvel films. Like...maybe a few are good but a lot of them are filled with those "humour" bits that are just not funny. I liked Iron Man and Captain America but then they started going downhill fast. Every serious moment seemed to be interrupted by unnecessary humour.

Toy Story. Its seems like a great idea. Toys coming to life and having adventures whatnot but freezing everytime a human walks in is very...odd to me. Just never liked them despite ending up watching 3 of them.

Back to the Future. Time travel is just bad imo. I hated it in the Dragonball Z Cell arc too so anything that is centered around it just doesn't appeal to me.

I've never understood why so many people love the movie Signs and say it's so great. I like how the movie started out but then it became a total let down.. almost felt like a comedy, especially the aliens' weakness to water, lmaooo. The Happening was even more comedic but I don't think it's as highly regarded

from all the like popular movies from like letterboxd I HATE Thirteen, it was so unrealistic to me and it felt too dramatic
I also didn’t really like Dazed and Confused, the high schoolers acted so weird towards the 8th graders and I never really understood it 😭

edit: also Palo Alto like it had really pretty cinematography that reminded me of tumblr. However, the plot was too all over the place for me to follow :[ I do love james franco and emma robert’s tho

superhero movies in general are kinda meh for me. theyre casting obvious cashgrabs like Gal Gadot who is terrible at acting, and there are just too many superhero movies for me to track or care about. I remember watching a Batman movie years ago and hated how dark the scenes were and how I couldn't hear half of the characters. I think it was Batman vs Superman? Then the next day my English professor started ranting about the movie saying she thought it was stupid they stopped fighting just because their mothers had the same name or something. i thought it was funny she also thought the movie's resolution was hot garbage.

Star Wars Original Trilogy (I like the prequels though lol) - idk, I just found them boring.

Superhero movies. Used to love them as a teenager, but I'm completely burnt out and uninterested now. I haven't watched a comic book movie in over 3 years.

My taste in movies is a bit erratic though, I have The Devil Wears Prada (2006) on my favourites list right next to Downfall (2004)

The Shrek series, I Dislike the style as it screams uncanny valley, i find toilet humor disgusting in most cases(Ralph Wiggum is my only exeption).
and overall i found the movie pretty bad, I have no clue why it is so liked; i thought every character was very annoying, the whole movie creeps me out.
Maybe i will like it if i rewatch it in the future, that happened to me for elf.

And of course this is my opinion, if you like the movie that's completely fine!

*I was trying to fix the spoilers but its just hiding everything my bad :/
As someone who does enjoy watching it; but also understand there are so many flaws, I can understand it being a total let down. I also wanna say, it's also because this film is what I watched since I was a kid, and with my family, so that's where my attraction to the film comes from.

The fact they were given many concidences to favor themselves in the moment. The fact the younger sister has a weird water problem taste thing.[/SPOLIER]and leaving them everywhere for when the main fight with the alien is all around the glasses of water they hadn't bothered to clean up
.

Also having [ISPOLIER]a main character who has a good baseball swing and his bat being there on the wall ready for the fight - you would think he would have that in his own room and not the living room
.

We learnt that the aliens only sent down some of their own to check the place out, but you can see from space we're an planet with LOADS of water - sure you're a dying race, but you have spaceships to go find another planet lol
.

I am mad we didn't get a proper full body shot fo the aliens. Most of it was CGI, why couldn't we see it properly
.

The main character and dad of the family who was dealing with losing his faith in his religion, but I do feel like we should've had a better scene with the man in the car and how our main character forgives him for what happened. I felt like that should've been fixed honestly.

He comes back to the chruch right, but now this character also has to accept that God made aliens too, and I dunno how well that fits in religion honestly
.

I dunno if people like or dislike when the actual creator/director of the film is also a character in the film, but it feels weird to me XD Defnitely for his character, which was just like one or two scenes? Three if you cound the flashback.

OH and this flaw,
[ISPOLIER]They had a few scenes trying to debunk how aliens would make those markings in the fields, but we never actually get to see the aliens make them - like I feel like after all the debunking, we having to actually see how it was made would have been the best part of an old question oh how aliens did it.
.

I ain't gonna mention much on what I like - also because it's been a while since I've watched it - but the music that was used, the cornfield at night scene, the birthday party scene were great to me.

I watched the movie as a kid around the time it came out and I had remembered it being way better until I rewatched it again a few years ago (I think?).

The cornfield at night scene was the best part of the movie imo, absolutely love that scene and wish the rest of the movie had been more of that kinda vibe!

Like you said about the aliens somehow not being able to see from space that our planet is mostly water.. yeah thats just crazy to me, I would have assumed that an alien race advanced enough to have spaceships would also have scanners that could tell them what the chemical make-up of a planet is.. Or robot drones at the very least so that they don't gotta go down there themselves!

I didn't like the birthday party scene specifically because of the CGI.. but I know a lot of people love that scene 🤔

I don't remember the religion part of the movie very well but thats a funny thought, having to accept that God made aliens too! Now i'm tempted to rewatch Signs lmao

It's definitely not a terrible movie, I remember it being a fun watch.. I just don't think its as great as people say 😝

Jurassic Park has never interested me. I tried watching it as a kid but then I got bored with it about 30 minutes in and turned off the movie and haven’t watched it since. I mean the dinosaurs were cool and all but the plot just felt boring to me.

Im not a big fan of the Finale Destination series. I liked the first one, but it kinda lost me in the sequeals. I think the concept is cool, but it's also weird.

I think Death would just thump you over the head to kill you, not send an electrical current into water, or some other scene.

But yeah. Even as a horror fan, defently not for me. I think I fell asleep in one of them, but I can't remember which.
