I wanted to make a thread dedicated to stuff people grew up with as a kid, as far as tv shows, movies, games and whatnot. Everyone's welcome to post about stuff they grew up during their childhood, so let's get nostalgic together!

I do have nostalgia towards not just as a kid, but also as a young adult (18-29). One thing that rings nostalgia was all these times I played Animal Crossing: New Leaf. An especially critical point was the time I was preparing for the town of StarFall (before I created StarFall). As for childhood nostalgia, I can say my Disneyland trip in 2003 (even though I’ve been to Disneyland five times this century).

Rugrats! It came around the time I was born and I was obsessed with it as a kid. I loved the TV show, collected the magazines, saw the movies in cinema, and I spent so many hours playing and replaying the PS1 games. It was a huge part of my childhood.

The Tommy Pickles quote, "nakey is good, nakey is free, nakey is... nakey!" lives rent free in my head.

This specific TV guide I grew up with makes me really noatalgic. I loved how it showed some of the different channel logos back when they were more colorful and fun. I had a blast looking through the different logos and I was obsessed with the HBO logo when I was like 6 for some reason? It was also so fun how the programs were color coded: regular shows in blue, movies in purple, sports in green, and news in red. I had dreams about elusive white-colored programs like they were rare pokémon. Shiny programs? I also liked the little yellow symbols at the top, I think there was also one that was like an S in an oval that I can’t find a pic of. Also, the signal strength test! Loved the beeps and boops and stuff. Oh, and one more thing! The music channels were abbreviated as SONC and I thought that was the funniest thing ever, so my dad and I started saying it a lot, like “Sonc! this soncy computer isn’t working!” Man, so many happy memories ^^

I used to watch the original Full House series on Nick At Nite as a child. In fact, Full House is one of my favorite live action series. I didn't even know about the reboot's existence until a few years after it came out. I only watched a little bit of the reboot, tho. I find it funny how I grew up watching a show that first aired in the late 80s, even tho it was cancelled almost a decade before I was even born lmao! 🤣

I was obsessed with a now obscure old Noggin cartoon when I was around the age of 8 called Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!

I always made sure to record future episodes of the show on DVR and get any merchandise I could find at Toys R Us whenever I went with my parents.

Daizy was my favorite character, someone gave me a plush pillow of her around New Year's 2012, I still have it to this day.

I also enjoyed playing the games online on the show's now defunct official website and Nick Jr.com.

Other nostalgia stuff I remember is that I used to always get Happy Meal toys all the time, especially if it was Hello Kitty related, I always looked forward to it and tried to never miss out on getting all of them.

When my dad had a Motorola flip phone, I loved listening to all the different alarms/ringtones on it. And when he’d put it next to his Phillips cassette player/CD player/radio, it made these funny little “bip” noises. I find the flaws of old technology can be quite charming. He would say they’re talking to each other. It was kinda cute.

It sounded just like this, but more intermittent.

I probably haven't heard this song since its release in 2007, but I just heard it randomly and it makes me feel so nostalgic ☺️

late 90s, 2000s, and early 2010s songs are a whole vibe honestly, soundtrack of my childhood.

Omg the tv shows we used to watch, like The Price is Right, I love Lucy.

Any of the 70s and 80s music is always nostalgic to me. And skates! We had roller skating rinks, bikes, and lots of freedom to explore the world. It's weird now to think about how far we went from home as really young kids. None of our parents had any idea where we went. 😅

Bowling and arcades were big, too.

I loved watching these screensavers as a kid! I think my mom had the pipe one on her Sony Vaio laptop… I used to love playing Mah-Jong on it, and my 5th grade teacher had the flower box as a screensaver on at least one of the computers in the classroom. I used to watch it bounce around instead of listening to some of the chapter books she read us after lunch…oops ^^;

There’s a lot of things I’m nostalgic for but for now I’ll just talk about one thing. I’m very nostalgic for flash games. I remember playing a ton of them in the early 2010s when I had internet access for the first time. It blew my mind there were many games you could play online for free. Shoutout to all the stickman games especially Stick RPG 1 & 2. Loved being sneaky and playing games on unblocked sites in school haha

This is a great song! I really like the message.

There was this website called Scratch I used to visit a ton when I was a kid, and it appealed to me because you could make games and animations very easily there. The 2.0 version that ran on Flash was being used at the time (now it's 3.0 and HTML5/JavaScript), so whenever I look at the editor it takes me back to my childhood. <3

I used to have a Scratch account and would use it all the time lol.

Me and my sister used to play this game called Purble Place on the computer. It was one of the earliest games I remember playing growing up. Purble Place was originally released on January 30th, 2007, which means this game is now 17 years old as of writing this post. 🙂

I saw a rainbow brite doll at Walmart a couple days ago and got hit with nostalgia. I low-key want it but I really don't have a use for it.

I loved purble place too! My fave was the cake decorator.

Nick Jr. from the late '90s and early '00s has a special place in my heart. How so? I tear up revisiting stuff from that era. That period was the golden age of my childhood, back when I was a kid who didn't suffer from constant stress. This is a bumper from a Blue's Clues VHS tape I once owned which, I believe, contained the episode where they have a sleepover. Face would appear afterward and give his funny spiel before the episode itself started. I'm quite surprised that this exists in DVD quality, since this was originally a 1998 VHS release. Oh, and did I mention that this has over 200k views? There are other Nick Jr. bumpers online that have over a million views. Yes, a million views for 10-30 second bumpers. Guess my nostalgia is in good company.
