This is the first thread I made on TBT in so long, and I wanted to see if anyone likes comics, graphic novels, webcomics/webtoons, and the like. [edit: yes, manga counts too!] Discuss!

I’ve loved reading comics for a long time, and my current favorites as of now are the Dog Man and Cat Kid Comic Club series. There’s a lot of wit and wisdom packed into the books, and it inspired me to make my own comic too! It’s also gonna have that kind of stuff (but no potty humor, rest assured). I really can’t wait to post it online when it’s done, because my comic is turning into a wonderful passion project. I just hope I don’t lose motivation halfway through… ;w;

I used to read comics a lot when I was younger, the two being the Beano and the Dandy. I always preferred the Beano as the characters were younger and therefore more relatable to me (even if I had nothing else in common lol). My comics from the Beano were Denis the Menace (obviously), Minnie the Minx, and the Bashstreet Kids - my favourite of the group was always Smiffy :^P

In regards to Webtoons, I've only ever read a handful and I can't remember most of them. If I remember correctly, I think The Beginning Before the End was a webtoon? If so then I used to read that a lot when I was thirteen/fourteen and still in full swing of finding the capabilities and expanses of novels on the internet lol. Also read the first volume of Heartstopper, but I wasn't really into (kind of only read it because a friend recommended it). I did like the dog though!

I used to be big into manga from the age of twelve up until relatively recently (probably fifteen or so). I've read too many to remember all of them, but I still have a good few that I love (though I no longer read them). My favourites off the top of my head would be Bungou Stray Dogs, Toilet Bound Hanako-kun, A Silent Voice, Banana Fish, Attack on Titan, and Fullmetal Alchemist. I passively interact with these fandoms, and still read fanfiction for them even though I haven't read canon in a while (except BF - recently started watching its anime)

The latest manga i'm reading is actually a currently airing anime right now lol Tamon's B-Side. The manga's really good and can't wait for more of the manga to be released :) I've read the mangaka's previous work as well, Takane and Hana which was also good. I've read a lot of other manga in the past but a lot of my favorites tend to be BL manga (which i'm kinda bummed i won't be able to continue reading Like The Beast by Yamamoto Kotetsuko cuz Mangaplanet is terminating OTL)

As for Webtoons, oh god i'm reading a lot and have read a lot. Some that I really enjoyed was Beatrice, Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom, My Delicious Dream Boy, Kiss Me Liar, How to Hide the Emperor's Child, Little Rabbit and the Big Bad Leopard, DEAR. DOOR, I Was Tricked into this Fake Marriage!, A Business Proposal, Flirting with the Villain's Dad, Positively Yours, The Unquenchable Mr. Kim, etc.

I grew up getting very few comics but I read them to death! Most of them have tracing lines dug into the covers too as I wanted to learn how to draw them. My favorites have always been The Huk and Batman. Later on I read a lot of collections for all sorts of heroes, as well as graphic novels. I really enjoyed Preacher and Watchmen. I have the collection for The Umbrella Academy that I still need to read. I loved the show so much and really want to read the original material.

I don’t really read comics per se but I have a few. I have some of the early English translated PokĆ©mon comics from the 90s and a collection of Midnighter comics contained in one giant book.

I loved reading webcomics online when I was younger, my favorites are Peanuts, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes, and Big Nate.

As for manga, I really like Spy x Family and Detective Conan.
