The nicknames kinda suck, sometimes...

So my villagers have been calling me ‘Touchdown’ for a little while which is ok but I’m not a huge fan of, honestly. Since I decided to change it, though, I’ve been approached three times for different nicknames and they’ve been as follows:

Dancer.
Hashtag.
RUTABAGA.

These... suck, to be honest. I liked it a heck of a lot more in New Leaf where it was just ‘Oh yeah, you don’t like the nickname I came up with? Well how would you like me to call you, then?’ And bam, I can pick what they call me. Is it even possible to do that at all here?

Oh, nice! Do you need to do anything specific to be able to pick it yourself? I’ve just been turning down those horrible nicknames but maybe I need to do something else?

I’ve rejected three of them so far and have not gotten such a prompt D: I wish I did T___T

I just kept accepting them, and eventually I got one I liked (Vitamin P). A few weeks later another villager suggested my nickname be changed to cupcake, and I declined. They then asked what I wanted to be called instead, and I got to type it in

It took me two rejections before I got the prompt :| I started off as "Chief" (which I didn't hate), but got a couple weird ones after that. The new nickname still needs to catch on though.

Mott started calling me somersault and then Sherb did too. I couldn't say no to them

My IGN is Kitty. When I get the prompt to type in a new nickname I always choose Kitty. It’s funny.

I spent a week trying to get Dom to move out, I tried everything (before we knew how it worked lol) which included smacking him in the back with an axe or net. He then asked to call me beatback which made me laugh. He moved before anyone else started calling me that though. Since then, no ones asked to call me anything yet! They do come up with some obscure names tho

At first I had something like "sweetie" (translated from french) which I was happy about, but then Julian decided to call me "Superfan" and now they all do
