Pretty much everyone in my life refers to me by my nickname, Kam. The only people that still call me my full government name are my parents, sisters, and acquaintances at work lol.
I don’t have a ton of close friends, but the few I’ve known for quite awhile I will call more endearing terms such as bb, love, etc.

There are a few people in my life calling me “Blue” because of my hair color. I really don’t like nicknames since it feels like most of these people are using the nickname as a way to get out of calling me my chosen name (as opposed to my deadname). It’s a way for them to appear less bigoted and more accepting than they are. It’s really tainted my view on the whole nickname thing.

This obviously excludes pet names by a significant other, which is a whole different topic; I personally love those.

no, almost always i’m referred to by my full first name but sometimes my boyfriend refers to me as “the shrimp” 😭 it’s a self imposed nickname.

my english name is pretty short so people just use that, i do have a childhood nickname that some people still use

my family calls me by a nickname, with chinese names there's two characters and my nickname is the second one said twice.... it's cuter when it's not explained AJKEFNKEJRG
both characters mean bright, the first one in the context of: bright - insightful and the second one in the context of: bright - shiny

I’ve got one that uses my last name, but I’m not that comfortable spewing such personal information out on the internet considering that I work for a school district (though I will say it’s out there somewhere). I’ll say, however, that it’s incredibly clever and something I get often from those who learn it for the first time.

In terms of my first name (which is proudly displayed in my signature at all times), I often get called “Trevdog” or simply “Trev” by others. I’m not a huge fan of having a nickname in general, but obviously usernames are an exception. Heck, “Bruscoe” is something I made up myself and have really grown to like. Rolls off the tongue quite well.

Yes. My name is Christopher but many people call me Chris or my last name. Not that I have preferences, they just do that because my name is too long I guess.

I also have a life long family friend who prefers to be called by one of his middle names (yes, he has two.)

My friend at work calls me homie or sis, it's nice as there's another person there with I similar sounding name as mine.
