I wouldn't work. Link has never had a speaking part(WW Link doesn't count), therefore it would be very boring just watching a character moving around killing stuff(okay maybe not). Also, what would the plot be? I just couldn't see it working. Then again, I never imagined that an Animal Crossing Anime would come out either.

I think zelda would work. Link doesn't need many lines, and anyway, and they can add some in. The games have a good plotline, and so I think it would actually be pretty cool.
