What do y'all think about the Labubu craze? You know, the furry little monster blind box collectibles that are trending right now? Do you have any? Do you like them? Are you tired of the hype?

I'm not usually one for trends myself but I honestly kinda like Labubus!

I have never heard of them so I looked it up. They're uh... not my thing. That kinda creeps me out. I wouldn't have even known that counted as a trend if you hadn't said so. I would have thought it looked obscure. Maybe it's because I don't use social media?

Honestly? I don't have one, but I think they are the cutest ever.

My biggest and only issue with them is that I kind of get annoyed when people tell me I only like them because it's a trend or because celebrities like them, because honestly I only KNOW about them because I saw them on tiktok/on celebrities lol. But my liking them has nothing to do WITH celebrities. I just think they are super cute and kind of want one one day. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who put things down or put people down just because they are popular and they want to be edgy about it. :3 SADLY I'm seeing a lot of that with Labubu. (Not you, Seastar!!!! Just wanted to make sure you knew my comments weren't directed at you! You're 100% allowed an opinion, I'm talking about the people who have to make other people feel bad over it specifically.)

My birthday is tomorrow. I'm debating buying one off etsy. I suspect it's a lafufu, but I don't really care. I don't care much about the BRAND itself, I just think they are cute and kinda wanna attach it to my bag. :3

I do not understand it 😬 neither Labubus nor their prices are cute to me

If you genuinely like them, you do you, but I try not to support anything with unnecessarily inflated prices, especially since they will become more accessible with time.

I don't mind them, I think some are kinda cute but I have no desire for one. It doesn't annoy me that they are popular.

I don’t really like them and i get that some people overconsume but like the person above said some people just like them because they find them cute and people get too judgy and even sometimes hypocritical.

I don’t get it. They’re not cute. I feel like they’re popular because of social media and the element of surprise (i.e. the blind box).

(However, I did see a baby dressed as a Labubu once and it was adorable!)

I luv the 2 I have! One was given to me by my oldest’s bestie and the other I paid for when he bought a full boxed set (I also bought one for my daughter from the set).

I don't quite understand the appeal -- but do understand the appeal of some other mystery figures... I have a soft spot for smiskis (quite glad they aren't available where I live otherwise I would have a financial issue.)

There are some nice Labubu .stl files to 3D print, and I've printed four for my nephew. He is obsessed and happily content with these affordable versions!

See, I'd be perfectly happy with those too! Those, those handmade crochet ones on etsy, Lafufu, etc. I just think THEY are cute, I don't care about brand named stuff lol. I think it's ridiculous that some of them are so expensive. No way will I pay over 60 bucks for one. But those keychain dolls aren't TOO bad I don't think.
Also that's really cool that you did that!!!

I don’t understand why they’re so popular. I’m sorry but those things are hideous! With the Furby, the thing I think that made them connect to me besides being so interactive were the eyes before they became digital screens. Labubu just aren’t that visually appealing.

It's absolutely a preference thing.
I've always been drawn to the "so ugly it's cute" things, so maybe that's why I like them so much.
It's also possible they bring some form of nostalgia comfort to me because they kind of remind me of where the wild things are? I'm not sure.
I totally get some people find them scary and ugly. One of my best friends likes to call them nightmare fuel lol But I think they are precious and adorable q.q I don't know.

I do love my furbies, too. Actually I just got a lil Furblet. She's so tiny and cute. And together we watched a 'scary furby story' video on youtube haha

I like them, but I like most Pop Mart stuff. I have 3 Lafufus and snagged an original one today, actually! Next I want to pick up some clothes to customize them a bit, so their popularity is a great help in having a big selection. I can't wait for the craze to die down so I can thrift the rest of the colors I need for cheap. It's kinda cute that the Monchichi colors are the rare ones.

I just bought this off amazon. I'm 99% sure it's not a real labubu because it doesn't SAY labubu anywhere. I'm just PRAYING that it comes looking like the picture lol because as long as it does, I'll be happy. Like I said, i don't care about the brand. I just think they are so cute q.q lookatheradorablelilface.

personally, they aren't for me. i'm not gonna whack anyone for enjoying them lol.
i will say though, the current obsession that some people have with them is kinda scaryyy.. this person i know began collecting them around may and they already have a WALL of different labubus of all sizes. and i KNOW those things don't go for cheap, especially in canada!

I didn't even know this thing existed. So I had to look it up. I don't have any intention of getting them. But they remind me of a cross between the Lost Boys from Peter Pan and Where the Wild Things Are.
