The animal crossing excuse

Soo seeing the rape thread got closed because it's not suitable to talk here in an animal crossing forum got me shocked? I mean, they are mods and ofc they can clos threads they have the right to but sometimes I've seen threads that got closed because "this is an animal crossing forum"... and like, we literally talk about everything but animal crossing in brewsters?? I don't know if this goes against the rules but oh well

I'm not saying the thread should get unbanned or something but I'm wondering what do you thing about getting some topics get tabooed because this is animal crossing related??

Most other forums I've been to have had mature sub-forums for those kinds of discussions. But I also find that the "mature" discussions aren't really mature at all, and end up just turning into flame wars.

In this situation, I think the mods made the right choice. Rape is a pretty heavy topic, and since this forum doesn't have much of a filter, it's best left locked than hoping members can keep their cool during that sort of discussion.

Oh please. There are plenty of other outlets for mature discussions, and a forum designed to be kid friendly is not that. If you don't like how the moderators handle the forum you don't have to keep posting here.

a rape thread it not suitable for this website and the audiences it has. there are many children on here and it is highly inappropriate to put a sexual abuse themed thread on an intentionally kid-friendly website like this & there are plenty of other outlets and sites dedicated to topics such as that other than a video gaming forum.

The "this is an Animal Crossing forum" line isn't meant to say that's what we should be talking about, it's reminding you that there's young people on here and that some topics just aren't suitable.

There are dozens of children here. Rape and similar discussions are not appropriate. If you want to talk about rape experiences, go to the many appropriate forums and sites out there.

this place is very kid friendly, it wouldn't be appropriate to talk about rape or sexual abuse. like above, there are many other places to talk about it, just not a happy-go-lucky forum for acnl.
