The AC / TBT Decline (Pokemon)

I will probably take a break for Pokemon. The thing about games like Animal Crossing is that their so easy to play it makes me easy to go back to alllllll the time.

I'm getting X and Y tomorrow. I'll be playing X and my husband will be playing Y.
I plan on only ACNL for about an hour day, which is what I do already, and then playing Pokemon more aggressively (like 2 hours+), so I can beat it and get it out of the way faster.

I'll try to divide my time between the two games. The problem is I'm working 50-60 hours next week, depending on when they need me, so I'm not going to get much time for either. I should be getting the game tomorrow whilst I'm at work, so I'll try play when I get back. Not at work Sunday so that's most likely when I'll play most.

I'll be sticking to AC:NL until Mario Kart 8 comes out for the Wii U. lol... I've lost interest in Pok?mon lately.

I'm the same. I didn't realise I wanted Pokemon until Wednesday, preordered X yesterday and it'll be here tomorrow! I'll still keep in with my town, I've bought a c ouple of games, although not as hotly anticipated as Pokemon, and still played AC every day since launch. There's so much to achieve and festivals coming up alongside the fishing tourneys!!

P.S. The thread may be moved to a different section (Nintendo), just in case you check it and it goes suddenly!!
WHERE?! I ordered yesterday from Amazon with two day shipping, and it won't be here until the 17th. T__________T

And I think it'll have a noticeable impact, but nothing devastating.

I'm probably in the minority but I have absolutely zero interest in Pokemon. I think I had a Pokemon game back when I was like, eight years old, on Gameboy Color... and that's about it. I just genuinely don't find the appeal of Pokemon, so I'm not going to be buying it. :P

I'm a long-time pokemon player, but for me it seems like each new pokemon game gets less play than the last. I didn't ever get around to beating the last pokemon game I bought, the White version, and after that I pretty much decided that my pokemon days are over. So I won't be getting X/Y, I'm sure it would be a waste of money for me. And I don't think there should be any serious concerns about the state of the AC:NL community, it's going to be fine. :) I played Wild World for years and years after its release, and still found friends to WiFi with and an active community online, so that probably affects my viewpoint. New Leaf will still be an active community for a long time.

I'm gone after today. I might check in occasionally because I'm trying to get rid of Shep and Marshal, but otherwise, I'm gone.

I won't be getting the game for a while but even when I do I plan to still invest plenty of time in AC. I have too much time on my hands for it to be a problem anyways.

Are you me?

That aside. Its not all bad.

You have people like me. I pretty much came here just because most of my friends have gotten their fill of AC and moved on. So I joined just now.

I might get X Y, but it won't be an immediate buy. I hate missing out on the next big release when everyone's talking about it, since that's a lot of fun in itself. However that's something AC has going for it, the fact that its full of events spread over the year, always worth coming back to.

I never found Pokemon to hold my interested like AC can. I'll probably be over it in a week and switch back to AC :)

I'm the complete opposite to a lot of you guys.

Animal Crossing doesn't hold my attention for very long. I'll play for a month maybe and then I get bored of it and don't want to play again for like half a year. With Pokemon I don't burn out very easily and end up playing it for months if I don't rush through it.

Im going to be one of those people who disappears from AC and TBT, getting lost into Pokemon. LOL Cya'll in a few weeks! =D

I'm gonna do my best to play both evenly! Though, when I got BW2 really late in it's lifetime, getting AC totally cut off my progress XD

I can play Pokemon for hours on end, but surprisingly, New leaf is the only Animal Crossing game that held my attention for more than a month or so. I actually had to take a break from New Leaf and play my other games.

I'll probably spend less time on NL once I download Pokemon X in a few hours, but that's not the only reason why.

I feel a little burnt out with NL. Especially since I've reset my town over and over (the last time being yesterday actually), so it feels like running on a treadmill. I'm also starting to dislike the real time clock in the game because I don't want to TT (have nothing against those who TT, it's just personal preference) but at the same time I don't like feeling like I'll be punished for not playing everyday (missing out on items in store, fossils, etc.).

Animal Crossing is starting to get a little to repetitive. I'm to the point where I need to play about ten minutes a day to keep up with my town. I just TT day by day to keep my interest. I will for sure play more pokemon than AC, probably wont neglect TBT and do my daily AC stuff. But I feel like I need a much needed break.

i'll be playing ac like i normally do. everydayyy. i'm not really into pokemon as much as i used to, i mean i still am, but not as much.. so i think i won't get so fully immersed into the game where i'll forget about ac in general.

I really miss when Pokemon was original. I remember playing Red on my black and white gameboy and it was the most interesting thing on the planet. I've played about every Pokemon game to date. The last one I got I picked up after New Leaf was Pokemon Black version 2, I played it endlessly for weeks and just stopped playing cold turkey and for once it doesn't even bother me I didn't beat it yet.
