The AC / TBT Decline (Pokemon)

Don`t care about pokemon, but when that new Zelda comes out.... Oh dear.... I will have to find a way to keep playing both. Should be easy, because Animal Crossing is perfect for short stints in the train.

It really doesn't take more than thirty minutes to an hour to do what I need to do in Animal Crossing. Today, I managed to find a char for Flora, deliver a present to Rowan, retrieve a lost item for Rowan, give Gwen her medicine, convince Beau to stay in my town, shop where I needed to shop, and get a tan on the island within an hour.

It won't be necessary to stop New Leaf altogether or stop visiting this board.

I just got Pokemon Y today so I probably will be playing it alot more than New Leaf. I have a trade still going through so I'll have to keep up my end of the trade, but after that, I'll probably just check in once a day to make sure nobody I want to keep is moving, and then go back to it when I'm bored of Pokemon.

I dunno if I'll get Pokemon but I do want to get either the new legend of zelda game coming out or maybe even Ocarina of Time, not sure (any help appreciated).

Anyhow, New Leaf is my only 3DS game so I kinda wanna branch out.

Is it bad that I love the face Isabelle makes? I think it'd make an awesome avatar myself lol

Everyone should understand that every video game in existence isn't going to sustain your interest forever. If you either beat a video game, grow too bored with it, facing against serious flaws that disrupt your enjoyment or completed the heck out of it, then you'd have little to no reasons to come back again on the same game. Even Animal Crossing isn't boredom-proof, as the repetitive feeling begin rearing its ugly head at some point in repeated playthroughs and possibly running out of incentives to keep playing. I believe ACNL took 2-3 months for an average player to begin feeling a little more bored with it. Luckily, TBT has plenty of other boards for you guys to have fun with!

That's pretty much why I'd get more games along the way.

I really miss when Pokemon was original. I remember playing Red on my black and white gameboy and it was the most interesting thing on the planet. I've played about every Pokemon game to date. The last one I got I picked up after New Leaf was Pokemon Black version 2, I played it endlessly for weeks and just stopped playing cold turkey and for once it doesn't even bother me I didn't beat it yet.

I'm with you on that. Last game I beat was Heartgold, merely because it was a remake of Gold, which was my 1st Pokemon game. Most recently I got Pokemon White... and I haven't even gotten all the gym badges. Maybe got like half of them.

I kinda just wanna get rid of it and I don't care what I get for it at this point... >.< I have friends who're still pretty into Pokemon or wanna start playing again, so I'll ask them what they think, but I have NO interest in buying the new games. Honestly, I regret buying White. :(

I still play AC:NL, just not the numerous number of hours like I used to. I also enjoy the TBT community so hope to be around for a while. :D

Basically this.

And Pokemon just came out, so of course activity will be down. By the time people finish their games, give it a bit of time before they're a little more active in ACNL again. It's not like people will be gone forever.

It's not like people will be gone forever.

Some are. I've noticed there's been less people since at least September. I know you can say people are busy with school, but I don't think it's just that. For some people, a few months is more than enough enjoyment from Animal Crossing. And, to be honest, MOST video games don't last anywhere near that long of entertainment value.

Once I get it ill probably obsessively play it for like a week like I always do with new pokemon games and then probably balance it out by playing other games. This might also be the case for other people too, but idk. With animal crossing I get bored after a while then pick it up and play way too much, then get bored again.
The pokemon x and y story line seems really short this time, like I see people saying they already got to the elite four and its only been a day..

I'm getting a little tired of AC myself, but that's because of being burnt out rather than Pokemon or any other game.

I'm purposely not buying Pokemon to avoid getting addicted to another game all over again..
