The AC / TBT Decline (Pokemon)

White was too easy for me since i played HOURS ON END. In this gen, I plan on actually CATCHING Pokemon XD

i play competitively, meaning i iv breed and ev train, so i think i'll get into this new game a loooooong time.

i even care about the natures of my ingame pokemon :|

I'll probably still play Animal Crossing, my friends aren't getting the game till Christmas.
And they BEG me to play at times.

Me and my dad are gonna get up at 5am tomorrow, go get MCmuffins then wait at GameStop till it opens at 9am. I'm a hardcore Pokemon fan xD (No midnight release for my town)
Once I get the game I'm done with AC, I'm gonna reset the game then never make a new town. Gonna play Pokemon 100% of the time now.

While I've ended up playing far more sporadically with Animal Crossing: New Leaf (down to almost a few times per week), I'm definitely not one of the guys who'd get the Pok?mon games. I'm quite iffy on that franchise, and still got quite a lot of other games to play anyway. And that doesn't affect my TBT activity much anyway.

I might be looked as a troll ranting on the franchise, but it felt like a new generation of Pok?mon essentially meant throwing minor features that doesn't redeem much of my interest and churn out much more Pok?mons to collect just for the sake of replicating the "feel" the original Pok?mon games did. It hasn't evolved much since Pok?mon Red and Blue arrived on our shores, and I've pretty much grown out of the Pok?mon craze. Surprisingly, it kept selling millions like crazy.

I'm picking up my copy of Pok?mon X in a couple of hours, so I'll definitely be playing it a ton tonight and very little New Leaf for the next week or so. But just like how my excitement for New Leaf waned after a little while, that will surely happen with Pok?mon, too. I'll just have to try to remain motivated to keep playing New Leaf at least half an hour-ish a day while I'm still this hyped for Pok?mon. As far as TBT goes, I don't plan on going anywhere. :)

kinda like most series, no?

I already knew that, but Pok?mon seemed to be more obvious when the last 4 generations had a batch of Pok?mon games released on a almost yearly basis. HeartGold and SoulSilver on 2009/2010, then it's B & W on 2010/2011, B2 & W2 on 2012, and X & Y on 2013. Crazy, right? I could imagine they'd release Z next year, or maybe some sort of DLC that enhances the game.

I have to respectfully but strongly disagree with the bolded statement. I've played every generation of Pokemon games, and the original games are bare bones compared to the newer ones. I think the only thing that could get me through a play through of Red and Blue now would be nostalgia.

I don't have the passion for Pokemon like I did when I was younger, but that's due to me being an adult now that likes to over complicate and stress about things, video games included lol

^ This, pretty much. I haven't checked on my animals since Friday, when my Pok?mon Y got delivered.
I guess I'll check on my animals every few days so no one moves away, but that's about it. It's highly possible that I'll get back to New Leaf when my intereset in Pok?mon died a little but that will take some time.

I agree with the posts above me. I just go to ACNL for trades really...

I'm not getting X/Y so I'll still be here.
At least until a Link Between Worlds comes out next month.

ACNL has gotten really repetitive and boring in terms of gameplay, events are too far spread out into the year, very little filler events and once you have your town looking and going good, not much left in the new and excitement department. So i'll only be playing new leaf just to check on the town, play some events and make sure villagers that I want don't move away. Other than that I'm going to be playing mostly X.

I think I will wait a while before I get the new Pokemon game (don't know yet whether I'll get X or Y). I know myself; I'll end up neglecting ACNL and I don't want that since there is so much to do first (so far I have a grand total of two PWP's >_>). But I'll probably be doing some TT'ing because I get bored really easily and some things in ACNL are too repetitive for me. x_x

Now that I have it, I'm still going on Animal Crossing to check up on my villagers, and to do my daily things. I obviously won't be playing it as much as I was though.
