Thank you Nintendo in your effort to combat Time Traveling (Nintendo allow TT - TTers), not only did you fail to take into account that getting rid of certain exploits hurt non-tters as well.

Interest rate nerf is great if it was only against TTers. Turnip rate nerf is decent but doesn't fix the broken online stalk market.

But neither of those things hurt non-tters. What hurt non-tters is that you literally significantly reduce the spawn rate of all rare bugs. It one thing to nerf Tarantula spawning due to abuse, its another when ordinary hard working farmers relies on rare butterflies farming to make end meets.

You litterly screw over the portion of your fanbase who are playing this game the way you envisioned.

I don't want to hear any TTers or anyone else say "I pay $60 for this game and I can play however I want". Not only does Nintendo disagree with you, but the way you play affects everyone else. I don't do tarantula farming since I consider that cheating and now I'm being punish from my only way of making money? I spend so much time breeding hybrid flowers to spawn rare bugs and now you decided to screw with my own labor? Spawning rare hybrid flowers by putting in work is not an exploit Nintendo!

Don't anyone else tell me the online stalk market isn't broken either because Nintendo doesn't know what they are doing anymore. Nintendo said one thing and does another.

Now I find myself playing this game less because catching bugs is what I do. Some people fish and some catch bugs. Those are literally the only two things that most people do daily.

Everybody to me: Its my game, I'll play it however I want! Stop gatekeeping! Not when it affect me and other players. Yet but I'm the bad guy here. I don't exploit, I don't scam, I don't insult, and I help those in need but I'm the bad guy here. Right! Logic!

Did they? I'm not seeing any evidence of this. I've caught 2 Madagascan Sunset Moths and 1 Agrias Butterfly already today. And I haven't seen any nerfing to the Pea Butterfly. It shows up about the same.

Okay, I can understand the holier-than-thou attitude people have towards time travelers but I am genuinely curious here... How is tarantula farming "cheating" when it is literally a mechanic built into the game? I'm deeply confused here.

Its in the update note and yes it been massively nerf. I would see around 40+ peacock by now. I been at my flower garden which is massive and I have only seen 2 peacock.

Other people on Gamefaq are also reporting the same thing.

Screw the main point of the post for a second-
Why and how is tarantula farming cheating? I personally don't do it because I dislike bug catching (more of a fishing gal) but-
According to another post they made its "messing with the natural ecosystem of an island to force rare bug spawns" lol

It is not, its an exploit. That why it got nerf by Nintendo.

How are time travelers ruining bug spawn? Not coming at you, just curious since you claim this. On my island things are pretty normal and I haven't gotten any changes.

Nintendo needs to stop people selling villagers and items on Ebay for RLC. I think that's a bigger problem than using in game features. But hey.

Yeah but those people
Wait, what? Since when is using the tools the game gives you on the islands the game sends you to manipulate the environment to achieve a certain goal? I'm assuming you didn't take advantage of Tortimer's Island for beetles, then?

You are correct.

Or Nintendo screwed up the spawn rates when the game was first released. Cause I don't know if you played New Leaf, but tarantulas seemed to spawn a lot more in New Horizons then they ever did in New Leaf. If blaming time travelers makes you feel better than by all means, but I seriously doubt that is what was going through Nintendo's mind at all tbh.

This may be a dumb question but what happened with Turnips and Bugs? I don't see that mentioned anywhere?

Its in the update note. Reduce rate of rare bugs spawn by a significant amount.

It's kinda like when they nerfed Diddy in Smash 4. They realized he was OP. That's it. Nobody was cheating by using him in the game

Is there any evidence of what you're saying? I caught THREE Agrias butterflies this morning. Way more than I've caught on any other day. The pea butterflies are spawning fine for me still as well.

Furthermore... how is tarantula hunting cheating exactly? That's one bug... just like the butterflies are bugs. Yes, they give a lot of bells, but Nintendo had them spawn as often as they did. So what if somebody can chop down trees, dig holes, etc, and get a ton of tarantulas on an island? That's a game mechanic, it's not cheating.

As I've told you before, Nintendo has stated that they are not going to actively discourage people from TTing. They think it's best played in standard conditions (real life time) but in the end, they understand people will want to play the game that they want. I think it would be in your best interest to calm down and not get so worked up.

Nowhere in the update notes does it say that the rate of rare bug spawns were reduced.

Turnip rate change if you TT even within the same day. This is target against TT hosting other people and making banks of whatever rate they charge.

They didnt feel rare. At all. They spawned way too often and this is coming from someone who doesnt TT and hasnt even SEEN tarantula island yet.

They're rare for a reason. I see 0 reason to complain about this. If you want them to continue spawning more so you can exploit their rarity then you're just as bad as the time travelers you claim they are.
