AKA real-life horror stories that happened in your ACNL game experience! By mortifying, I meant horrifying lmao.

I'll tell you mine. One time last year, I caught a flea on one of my villagers and was like, "Eh. This is worth like pretty much nothing. I'll just release it." So I tap the release button and then...

My whole game froze.

But it was a WEIRD kind of frozen! Like the ACNL graphics were still moving (like my character swaying around, bugs flying, river flowing, villagers wandering around) but my 3DS controls wouldn't respond when I pressed them. I had to restart a HUGE chunk of my day because of that. And because of this one-time event, I'm absolutely TERRIFIED about releasing fleas and always make sure I save the game before doing so. O-O;

Tell me your most horrifying story!

losing an entire day of gameplay because the game card popped out and I was landscaping.. so I lost a quarter of my town.

#3: Accidently ending up in the wrong town.

#2: Logging on with my mayor while plotting a new villager.

#1: Realizing that the reason Muffy won't move in is because my brother has given me one of his voided villagers. T-T

Sometimes when I go out of a building or I come back from the island, my game just keeps showing a black screen. I just keep waiting for a few minutes because I don't want to lose everything I did. Lately my game isn't doing that anymore, but it's pretty annoying.

THIS HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME

every once in a while my screen turns completely black for a few seconds just to mess with me cx

When my old games data got corrupted damn I nearly had a heart attack, literally.

When you don't play for a while and log on to see your mailbox flashing, meaning that a villager could have moved out. I legit breathe a sigh of relief when I see that nobody moved out and it was just a Mom letter or something.

when i opened up the game and isabelle told me gigi was leaving because she hadn't told me before..

a few times when i accidentally clicked the power button when i first started playing (wasn't sure how to hold the 3ds so i had my finger over the button ): never lost more than like an hour.)

I've had these stories happen to me as well... Isn't life just wonderful? :D

Last semester I had like a 2 hour period between classes and I was too lazy to drive back to my apartment, so I would usually play AC in between. One day I was playing and then just closed my DS without saving when class started. I had a really young professor, like maybe 25? And as he was walking around lecturing he picks up my ds and clicks the game out to see what I was playing and I clap my hands over my face and I'm like "No! I didn't save!" And he was so embarrassed and kept walking around mumbling "oh no I can't believe I did that thay didn't happen I'm so sorry...." and I felt bad for him and I was like oh its fine its okay, but actually I had just caught a rare fish for the first time and was really sad ;A;

Holy crap, this is by far the most terrifying experience yet! My deepest condolences. ;^;

When I first started the game, I didn't know what perfect fruit was, so I ate them.

And then when I got sent another one, I sold it.

I had no perfect peach forever, like 2 years, until I finally looked up how to spawn them.

I had to go through a lot of tree shaking for days and days, probably weeks, until I grew one. I also didn't know I could trade or buy them, so, that is what I did.

I feel so sorry for you.
The sound of the game card popping out... ._.

My most mortifying moment was when I got vix on my DS while playing AC, so I got a wet tissue and cleaned it.
But it was too wet.
So it got into my DS and the screen shuttered, and after a while it went black and wouldn't turn on.
So it's broken, meaning I couldn't play AC for over half a year, until I got a new DS.
Not only that, I lost my progress.
I was so happy when I got to play ACNL again.
But now I've got a broken 3DS and 2DS in a drawer in my room.
;-;

I have two horrifying moments to share:
1. Exactly 2 years ago from today, I decided to mess around with time travelling. I was impatient to get the snow bunny during the winter while it was July, so I decided to time travel all the way to December. I was close to having a heart attack because what happened was that I prepared my town for time-travelling, and forgot to change my ordinance back to Beautiful. I lost all my flowers except for my gold roses and lots of weeds popped up, to the point that Leif was at my house. I thought I might've messed up my game or something, too. (I also lost my first Coco that day)
2. While I was staying at a hotel, I decided to use the internet, since the internet was free. It was a good thing it was free, because it was HORRIBLE. I mean, to the point where it wouldn't even run! I decided to use the internet, and it made my 3DS lag so much to the point where my Animal Crossing game didn't load properly: The land stayed blue until it could load, I saw skeletons or parts of the animals, and some of my flowers where missing. Just like the previous situation, I also thought that the game was being corrupted, and turned off that session without saving.

When I first got the game, I didn't know the villagers could just randomly pop into your house if you're in it alone. So I was in there, minding my own business, and all of a sudden there was a knock and a voice. God, was I terrified. Sames goes for pascal, the first time he popped up and asked for my clam scared the **** outta me. Both times I lowkey thought I was going to get attacked.

when i first started playing there were children in my house and i was charging my ds, and the line went to the dining table from the wall, which was about the length the charger was. anyways, i just started the game and i had obtained over like 50,000 bells and i talked to all the villagers and blah blah, it was in 2013. but a kid rushed through the line and my ds crashed to the ground, the cartridge popping out. i was so sad, i spent like 7 hours playing it.

This happens to me too. When I had ACWW and a DSLite, this happened as well. It gradually got worse, happening more often and for longer amounts of time until one day it happened after i got bit my a tarantula/scorpion & my DSLite never turned on again.. So now that its happening to my 3DS I'm getting really freaked out and asked for a new 3DS for Christmas. x.x

I recently had to get a taxi to a medical appointment, and as I was waiting outside noticed our bins had been emptied and were ready to bring in. Since I had time I decided to do that, tucking my DS and my little tablet (my temporary phone) into the front pouch pocket of my windcheater (warm pullover top, a hoodie). As I was bending to get the first bin which had fallen onto the shared driveway, I heard an enormous *crunch* and *thud* ... yep, both 3ds and tablet had fallen from my pocket and smashed into the concrete! I managed to get them both and finish the bins, no easy task in my condition as getting the bins was already pushing my limits. I didn't allow myself to look at the damage until in the taxi on the way to the Dr's. Despite my fears, the DS had no visible damage though the random game card had ejected. The SD card had also jiggled around, which I didn't realise so panicked when my AC:NL wouldn't load.. it came pre-installed on the DS and I had no idea what to do if it wasn't working.. luckily my sister took charge of that for me when I saw her later that day, she had it fixed in no time after I explained what happened, and walked me through what to do if it happens again.

My tablet was also miraculously relatively unscathed! One corner on the back has a nice pebbled area where it connected, but aside from that, all good.

All this only happened as my phone needed repairs from the manufacturer - that phone has a tough case with awesome gribbing texture, so it stays in a pouch pocket and keeps anything like a ds stable, too. I miss it SO MUCH!
