My egg for the Egg Painting Category is based on Hunter the Leopard from Lisa Frank. I used a plastic craft egg, Prismacolor colored pencils, Sharpie markers, and gel pens.

Here’s my eggie entry for egg painting! To the best of my ability, I did the pattern on the shirt of my oc, bun bun!!!

Started by gessoing some plastic eggs. 3 coats of clear gesso because my white gesso had gone totally dry

Sculpted the clay on (air dry clay), also made her strawberry horn using the same process. Additional I applied three layers of new white gesso, and mixed up some acrylic paint + impasto medium and piped a bunch on to some palette paper in order to get the best dollop

Painted everything with acrylic paint... also made her little tail using yarn that I painted pink and sculpted the end of her tail using aluminum foil and air dry clay

All of Merengue's components!! Her ears are felt that I stitched to give them their shape + painted the inner ears with acrylic paint. THe strawberry leaves is just some green quilting cotton. After all that I picked the dollop I liked best and then superglued everything together

So! Here my humble participation, for the egg painting category...

An Egg with a view, inspired from the Bunny Breakdown backdrop and egg #4, colored with washable Crayola markers which was a really bad idea (do not recommended)

Made my favourite space squirrel Ione for the egg decorating category

Materials used:
Plastic craft egg
Gouache and black light paint
Clay I made myself out of baking soda and cornstarch
UV lamp for nail polish to charge the paint

Had to freestyle a lot for this one, unfortunately the glow in the dark paint needed like 5 layers to stick and still turned out patchy, and my diy clay was so soft, it felt like sculpting with mash and the only glue I had was for glueing metal so it dried very … oddly on this egg I painted the backside of the moon neon yellow but it was too much, so I turned it around (hence the random yellow particles on the moon)

I usually prefer to make an egg more akin to the decorating category when it comes to the egg decorating contest, but this year I decided to challenge myself and try the painting category.

I was inspired to paint what I wish Spring was like here right now… It uh snowed here earlier this week so yeah…

I used a plastic craft egg and painted it with a combination of matte and iridescent acrylic paint. I’m happy with how it turned out.
