So in Bird Mafia 2 for example, if town had lost would I have lost too since I counted as town? I guess these games with little third party members counting as town still means they have to win with town, but a role like survivor doesn't? I'm confused.

No, that's stupid. We can't not win because we counted towards town's numbers. Our win condition of the game was to collect all the diamonds. That's how we win. We counted towards town's numbers, yes, but that does not mean we don't win if we don't meet majority of town's win condition. We are a third-party role, designated by the yellow text. If we counted towards town's win condition, we should have been green and you should have stated in the role PM that our win condition was the same as town's, but our MINI GAME win condition was to collect all the diamonds. We won according to our win condition and there's nothing you can do about it.

In my opinion, "you count towards town numbers" is NOT the same as "you win with town". Because survivor-type roles also count towards town numbers (for the sake of working out the scum win condition). However, a dead survivor will not win with town, and an endgamed survivor can win with scum.

It doesn't matter who did and who didn't count towards town. Our win condition was met and we were not told we could not win at the same time mafia wins until the 10th. That's obviously unfair and changes our overall strategy, as our third party strategy was verging on delaying the town to waste their lynches to give us more time to meet our win condition. That means it conflicts with towns.
