Hey i wanted to make a Super Monkey Ball discussion thread just because i am a huge fan of the franchise. Anything from any Super Monkey Ball is welcome here! From the very first NAOMI arcade version (Monkey Ball) to the newest Super Monkey Ball 3D! (If that actually is the most recent installment dunno exactly...)

To start off with a subject, do you think that there will be a Monkey Ball game for Wii U?
I personally really hope so but i doubt that it will happen to be honest...

Super Monkey Ball 2 was one of my childhood games. I just love it so much. My friends and I always played the one party game where you try to land on the numbered target pads. I think a Super Monkey Ball for the Wii U would be really cool. I keep imagining how awesome some Gamecube games would be if they went online and if they made a Super Monkey Ball sequel with online multiplayer I think that would neat.

I love the Super Monkey Ball series and hoping they make a Wii U one. If they do make a game for the Wii U they should make and sell Aiai, Baby, MeeMee, and GonGon amiibos. Would definitely buy those.

Yeah amiibo would be cool for a Wii U Monkey Ball but i do not think that there is any use for it. I am trying to get my hands on a Super Monkey Ball 2 copy but the PAL versions are quite rare...

I loved the game when I was little, and still do! If there were to be a Wii U game, how about a crossover between Super Monkey Ball and Billy Hatcher? They team up to fight evil. There are two ways you can play it, the monkey ball way or the hatcher way.

Great, but what will they do? Increase your score when you complete a level by 3x? Something that has to benefit them.

Idk, lol. Maybe each time you scan one the next stage you play gets banana overloaded, and once you finish the stage your final score is quadrupled.

Whahahah nooo, i think the only thing they could do is give you an extra life and unlock a handful of mini-games.

Actually that would make more sense

EDIT: What if they each unlocked a new, specific minigame that you can only play as that character in? Like four new minigames that are specialized for each of the characters. That would be well worth buying the amiibos.

Hmm that would work out if the mini games are going to be fun to play, banana blitz was awful with the mini games....

Yeah, I guess it would all depend on how Nintendo develops the minigames to be like

Well Sega develops Monkey Ball, the mini game would be guaranteed to be good when Nintendo developed it.

The only Super Monkey Ball game I own is Touch and Roll for the DS. It's one of the few DS games I still own, the rest I sold. It's pretty fun and the graphics aren't half bad compared to other DS games. I loved doing 99 lap races on the racing tracks and passing the COMs a million times. What does COM stand for anyway? Computer Operated....Monkeys?

Whahahahah Computer Operated Monkeys is definitely how i will call those from now on! I have no idea what it really stand for though... And i still play Monkey Ball Touch & Roll on an emulator when i am bored at school :p

Mmm....The first two Super Monkey Ball games are downright amazing. Touch and Roll was also decently crafted, although Monkey Wars in that was awkward to control. However, the quality of the series dropped once Banana Blitz appeared. Banana Blitz's stages were fine, but the minigames were mostly screwed up, which was unfortunate.
Then Step and Roll had WAY too few stages. I think there were only 70 in the game! (The music was pretty good though)
Then the 3DS Monkey Ball had the same problem X_X, with fewer minigames.

As for a Wii U Monkey Ball, I'm more worried if they can successfully replicate the feel of the first two games and not repeat the mistakes they did with more recent games zel. If they don't, however, being able to imagine yourself tilting the stage with the Gamepad for gravity and controlling the monkey at the same time does sound pretty enticing...

I own and have only played 1 & 2, but love(d) them both (#1 especially). I liked the mini/party games best, Billiards and Monkey Fight in particular. Baby and GonGon were my favorite characters.

I loved how Ai Ai and MeeMee were supposed to be a couple and Baby was their future son <3 Poor GonGon was kind of left out of that though.

I loved the billiards minigame. But I also loved the maingame. I had tons of fun playing it. Whatever happened to the franchise after those first two games, I`ll never know I guess. I haven`t even been tempted to buy any other game in the series, even though I was addicted to the first two games.

Such a shame. I loved the simple gameplay mechanics. Easy to learn, difficult to master is my thing.
