so because i have no clue where to buy an amiibo reader i was going to buy a new 3ds that had one. however, they only had the 2ds. i was wondering if the 2Ds has a reader built in or not. pls help ;-;

Holy smokes i have a 2DS and had no idea the reader was built in
Artially because my 3DS stopped working and my parents had bought me a 2DS for xmas that i never opened so i just started using it so thank you for this thread lol

You can use Amiibo cards and figures on the New Nintendo 2DS XL by tapping them on the bottom screen.The regular flat 2DS still requires the Amiibo reader.There are a lot of Amiibo readers for sale on eBay but they're a bit pricey ranging from roughly $35 to $75.
