I've been playing Animal crossing new leaf on my bro's 2ds and after awhile of playing my new save because I lost my old save, and now he's been gatekeeping the 2ds making me unable to play New leaf. So, I'm thinking about buying my own 3ds to play new leaf whenever I want. Do you think this is a good idea?

I mean… I guess. It depends. If you have enough money and you really want to play New Leaf, then I think you should do it. But if not, then I don’t think so unless you feel like it justifies the purchase.

It justifies it for me cuz my bro is a man baby, he's blocked my number atleast 50 times in the last decade. He also gave me the 2ds for my Bday then took it back cuz i wasn't playing on it.

Oh, okay, then yeah, it could be a good idea to get your own 3DS.

sometimes ppl could have problems together just because of conflicting interests, maybe u guys could get along playing new leaf together with your own 3ds. It could be fun

Personally, I reccomend the xl version. the "new" xl is unecessary unless you want the cpu power for specific reasons along with the c stick nub and the 3d effect upgrade. the 3dsxl has the stylus in the perfect place too.

I’d say go for the XL version as well!! The bigger screen makes a huge difference. Depending where you live, it can be cheaper to just buy a JP console and region swap. As for “new” vs “old” 3dsXL:

- new allows for amiibo use without cfw/ external hardware if that’s something you’re interested in
- completely random but I just found this out, if streaming your games natively using the 3ds (ie. without emulation) is something you are interested in, this is ONLY an option using the “new” 3dsXL (with cfw)

otherwise the difference is negligible! plus the cute poptart 3ds is an “old” xl :)

Whatever you decide, hope you enjoy!
