uh,,, yes i know the title is weird

Basically sherb keeps thinking ab moving out but i uhh don't want him to in fact I'd rather (almost) anyone else move out

So I tried scumsaving a few times when he brought it up but it didn't leave for like 3 days and now... spike wants to leave... so i had to hard reset again...

anyway at this point i'm too scared to see anyone with a thought bubble so i think i'll just slap it away with a net. : P done it a few times and it's actually quite funny to see them contemplating life and then you just *boop* and they return to normal xd

so yeh
how do i transfer the thoughtfulness to perhaps lucy or someone (i'm actually gonna keep coco for like until after halloween. gosh friking darn it lol)

Generally, I think the best way to get someone to move is to see whoever has the thought bubble, and if it's not who you want, quit and TT one day forward. Someone else should now have the bubble. Repeat until it's someone you want out.

I can't remember if you're supposed to save before quitting or not, though 😝

here's a link from May about villager move out mechanics in relation with their friendship level. perhaps getting Sherb's friendship up will decrease his chances of asking to move out while u stop talking to & gifting the villager u want to leave? i remember a phenomenon like this working with my First Chops. i literally never talked to him for a few days to a week and he was the first villager to ask to leave.

sorry about sherb asking to move. :( Does he not realize he booked a one way ticket to your island?!

When he (or anyone you don’t want to move out) asks to move, do not save before resetting. if you want them to not ask to move again that day you can ask to move their house, pay to get the housing kit, then return it to Tom nook without actually moving the house. He even gives you your money back! That way, at the least, sherb won’t ask again the same day, and even if he thought bubbles again that day it will not be to move out.

The method above works without time travel, it is just slower. The only problem is, because you reset, the game does not remember that Sherb recently asked to move, so just by random luck he may ask again the next day (it has happened to me with villagers I love and it is the worst!) But it will work this way eventually, you just have to be patient (easier said than done, I know!)

although (supposedly) friendship effects the chances of villagers asking to move out (and I do believe it, in my head at least) the chance of a villager asking to move never goes away, and in my experience it mostly feels random - or like a certain villager will not ask for a long time, then ask a bunch all within a short time frame (I think that is in my head though). But because I want to get photos from my villagers I also end up with all of them at high friendship levels which means they all end up equally likely to move. And once they are the highest friendship, ignoring them does not decrease it. If you have someone not at the highest level stopping your interactions with them will keep it from increasing further so that could help!

if you aren’t in a hurry for someone to move out, saying ‘no’ will make it so he is does not ask again for a while, but no one else will ask to move for the 5 day cool off.

Molly asked me to move the other day. (Of course, I didn't want her to leave just yet.)

Please make sure not to make a choice and restart the game once you figure out who's moving that day.

I asked Tom Nook to move her house and paid the fee. However, I didn't use it.

On the next day, Pekoe now asked me to move. I said "yes." I canceled my request from Tom Nook.

You repeat the steps each day until getting the desired villager to move out. Please take note that this won't work for villagers who recently joined your island. :)

Yeah it's just luck who gets the bubble each day. And goodness do I know what it's like to be stuck in a rut with bad rng rolls (I had Marshal ask to leave 8 days in a row once - I actually just told him to stay and ate the 5 day cooldown because I was getting so fed up). The bubble has a slightly higher chance of landing on villagers who like you less, so you could push Lucy around or whack her with a net until she gets upset to lower her friendship.

If you like a villager and they have a thought bubble, you can just avoid talking to them. They won't leave unless they go through the dialogue and you give them permission.

I know it’s been proven that the villager with the lowest friendship level asks to leave in NH but for me, it really does seem like my most beloved villagers want to go. Like the ones I take the time to cultivate a relationship.

At least on NL, there was theory that villagers with the highest friendship levels sometimes ask to leave. Like they accomplished what they came to do in your town.

I have no idea if some similar mechanics are at play. But we all feel your pain!

So. . .you wanna give Sherb a lobotomy? /end thread

i mean sherb needs to go back to being iconic lazy bro lmfao

Just tell him no? It's not like NL where they might move anyway, they won't move if you say not to. There's no risk.
