quick question- if a balloon has been made purchasable in the the shop individually like the pink heart has, is it removed from the pool of balloons you can get randomly from a balloon token?

I don't think so. I got a purple balloon from one of my mystery tokens even when it was unlocked in the shop. But then again, I'm not sure if dates are relative, i.e. buying the token before/after the balloon is purchasable.

It wouldn't be fair to have x color balloon removed from the pool just because it's in the shop, especially for the users who are looking for a certain color but spent all their MEOW coupons. So I'm going to assume the answer is no.
