people on belltree seem to live in very dangerous areas, i could've sworn somebody's 3ds was stolen only a few weeks ago

Once when I was younger I "accidently" saved my parents card information onto the 3DS and bought another game. My mom called Nintendo and made it impossible for that card to be used again unless I re-entered it. Call Nintendo.

I don't think that there is any way of retrieving your town. Not unless you use Powersaves ...
