Teddy Bear
Scraped knees, and brittle bones
Stitches again, this time, across her neck
She suffers more, when she's all alone
Her ideal concept of beauty was never met
She's patched up and broken,
The other children were afraid of her, and stared
All of her thoughts went unspoken,
For she has not a single friend which whom she could share
Poor broken, little girl
All alone, in this unforgiving world
She never smiles, only frowns
It was as if life's only purpose, was to drag her down
Under, under, a life full of slumber
Trapping her with those demons, was it just another nightmare?
"I will protect you little girl."
What was that voice? she jolted and stirred
A colorful teddy bear, with a bright gleam in its eye
He smiled so daftly, so doughty, not dry,
Her only reaction was to smile back too
He stared directly at her, "I promise, I will protect you."
She examined him closely, and nodded her head
He was poorly sewn back together, stuffing falling from his back.
Broken like her, but a smile held strong
Maybe he wasn't broken, but just stitched a bit wrong.
She fixed him up, his limbs all secured
He was handled badly from a previous little girl
She knew this world to be unforgiving,
But perhaps we all deserve to be patched up, and cared for.
With her new pal Stitches by her side,
She lived her life without fear, because she knew she would always be protected.
