SPOILER - Turkey Day Recipes/DIYs/Rewards

Oh, didn't know you could go to Nooks and just buy all the DIY's. That's awesome.

I'm in Southern Hemisphere, so I have being playing through the event this morning. Really enjoying it! 😍

To those living in New Zealand/Australia, did the Turkey Day event triggered yet? Did Isabelle announce anything?

Yes, for me as soon as I turned my game on this morning, Isabelle announced Turkey Day and I saw Franklin at my plaza in the loading screen xD

The table comes up to the player's chin. :(

The stand. Nothing to put on it.

The flooring is just the same as the herringbone!

No pumpkin pie item?

The NL harvest set would have been nice.
Sofa's, etc.

Done with waiting for the NL items and I'm pretty much done with NH after this utterly disappointing update in a series of disappointing updates.

kinda wack that you can just skip the event and buy all the recipes the next day at Nook's....like why did they make us wait real time to unlock the event on thanksgiving day, only for everything to be available so easily after.....?

Because Nintendo is wiggity wack lately and has been making questionable decisions almost everywhere it seems.

No full set of furniture like NL.

Another huge disappointment.

At least they are consistant.
I see 12 items, which seems like a full set to me. Only thing that may be missing is a lamp, but I'd say the fireplace is a reasonable alternative.

Because it wasn't about making it easy or hard to get the items, but trying to limit the amount of folks breaking the ToS by selling items for real money before they were intentionally available (not via TT).

Am I the only one wishing there were vegetarian options for Turkey Day? Even if I did eat fish, I don't know anyone (I live in USA) who would be putting so much fish into all the dishes.

At least they aren't having us put octopus in the food...

Honestly, the ability to get it through other means that aren't just 'on that day' is nice of them. It is good game design, even if it feels odd to us, as we've not had something like this before.

Don't forget, Turkey Day is Thanksgiving for the United States. So kids, and even adults, won't have the time to play the event due to their time being required elsewhere, considering it is a Holiday in real life for them.

I'm appalled at this as well.

My wife and I are vegetarian, and find this in an animal game, in very poor taste.

In NL there were quite a few vegetarian food items.
At least there was food in NL.

In a world with anthropomorphic animals, with a majority being omnivore or carnivore species, it makes sense that a pescatarian diet would have to be the main menu in such a universe. Would have been nice if there was one other dish besides the pumpkin pie that used the fruits, coconuts, acorns, or any other material that would be eatable.

I think there are plenty of items as well! Idk why people are complaining about that. The items are so all so cute!

It's a virtual game with virtual characters... I respect you being a vegetarian, but do you really think that's necessary?

Just to clarify, I think there are plenty of items and I am happy about them and they look great but just a bit disappointed there isn’t a turkey decorative item, pumpkin pie - those type of items (food). Sorry if I offended you. I wasn’t complaining about the what we got. I just expected more food related items for harvest festival than what we got.

I turned my switch to Sydney, Melbourne time to access the event early 😜

The whole event doesn't take more than 5-10 minutes if you already have all the ingrediants prepared.

Oh no, I agree with you there! It would have being really good to get some more food items like the pumpkin pie or the other dishes that Franklin makes. I'm not offended at all. I just in my opinion, think that what we were given is really cute. :)

I’m glad that I didn’t offend you; I don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer ><. I actually do like what we were give regardless of the lack of food items. The wait for the event to unlock though is kinda killing me lol; as hard as I was trying not to relook at the items we were given, I keep looking and then realized that of the food items that were datamined, not a lot of it were for this event. >< Thanks for clarifying :). I fail to read the mood sometimes and couldn’t help but worry I might’ve offended you or anyone else.

I don't get why they suddenly care about that though, in NL people TT'd all the time to get items when the game first came out and no one cared. Just let people play the game they way they want to.

Also it really sucks that they made us wait until Thanksgiving to get the event because some people have real life Thanksgiving events with their families which (in my case) usually lasts all day, and won't have time to hunt for ingredients or participate in AC thanksgiving at all and would just have to TT backwards the next day anyways.... Why does it matter if I wanted to TT today (the day before thanksgiving) to do the event so I can focus on family irl stuff tomorrow?

I am actually kinda glad they have it to where you can buy the diys at nooks afterwards. I mean, I would imagine most people would just TT backward if they missed turkey day, but it was still nice of them to do this.
(I mean... it is nice to have another option unlike the balloon way for the seasonal diys.)
I plan on TT backwards if I can't get on tomorrow.

At the end of the day, Nintendo owns the content, you just paid for the right to play it.

Well, the normal stuff we eat in the game are fruits, mushrooms, turnips, and pumpkins so it's not that much of a stretch.

I guess, but I feel like they should also respect their customers ya know, because they want me to keep spending money on their games/content.

I agree. Something is off with Nintendo at the moment. Not just with this update, but them upsetting a lot of people with their latest pocket camp update and losing out on most likely hundreds of thousands of dollars because of it. They're definitely not respecting their customers right now and not even making smart business decisions, which makes me respect them less also.
