Pokemanz
dont be such a sour wolf
-snip-
I'm sitting here trying to think of a way to explain this since I really don't know how to.
Getting away from online play/mechanics, Smash gets so repetitive. It feels like it's more set in stone than anything - same fighters with the same moves and the same stats. In the latest Smash they added custom fighters, but nobody ever wants to play with those because they're "unfair". It's all just so boring to me.
Splatoon has weapons with set stats, but you can change everything based on the gear you wear. Saving ink, faster movement speeds, extra damage... and the best part is, two pieces of the same gear can have completely different stats. It's amazing! Battles are always changing and frequent map rotations guarantee you won't be playing on the same stage over and over again all day long.
Also, Splatoon has a story and all kinds of things to work for. With Smash it's just "oh hey Mario and Link met each other time for them to fight to the death". What exactly is the point of that?
