So I just got the update and I'm super excited and thought I'd ask some questions as I've been reading some conflicting info. Now, I'm sorry in advance if these have been asked before.

1. How many villagers can we have living in our town as villagers now?
2. Can special characters like Lottie, KK, Reese, etc. - live as villagers in our town now? I got Lottie in the van through my amiibo but the prompt to move in hasn't come up at all. It's the same for Sahara who just appeared in her van randomly - no prompts to move into town.
3. I heard that villagers can also be forced to move out now - how is that?
4. Apparently, villagers now give a 10-day warning before moving out - does that mean that they move less frequently than before - how does affect things like cycling. Any idea if it's possible to change their mind when they're in boxes?
5. Will the new villagers from the old games be adoptable via campsite or only cards? Can they be adopted from someone else while in boxes?

Okay, I think these are all the questions. As you can see, villagers hunting is probably my favorite thing about AC.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

1. Still 10
2. If they're a special NPC in ACNL then they cannot be moved into your town. This includes Lottie as she makes a guest appearance in Nook's homes as a special NPC to introduce the HHD room design mechanic.
3. If you have someone moving in from a campsite/amiibo card from talking to Wisp you can choose which villager you want to move in to make room for the new villager.
4. No clue
5. As far as I know it will only be through the cards released? I dont think anyone has mentioned seeing them in their campsite. Dunno if they'll be able to be naturally found in boxes and moved out like that.

4: Yes, it takes them 10 days to move and the cycling method is now broken. I believe you still can't change their minds when they are in boxes.

I think that card villagers will be adoptable from towns while in boxes, but amiibo figurine villagers have been confirmed to not be adoptable.

They give you a 10 day warning, but when you turn them down, it triggers the next move the next in-game day you log in. So it shouldn't affect cycling methods, but it will be safer for casual cyclers. 16-villager cycling is still necessary to adopt a returning villager the normal way; but asking them to move from amiibo cards skips the cycle (and reboots the character to factory fresh). If you are holding a villager of yours elsewhere and want to move them back in, all signs point to having to use the 16-villager cycling method as before.
