Sorry but I had to explain something to everybody!
Back when NL came out everybody seemed to help each other and trade nicely some people still do this this way.
So im not blaiming the good peeps!
Nothing to be 'sorry' about: you are sharing your thoughts and opinions, just like the rest of us.
It's always good to be able to share or vent your frustrations.
The least we can do is listen.
Perhaps you have yet to encounter a lot of friendly, helpful & trustworthy players online, or here?
I only joined since April this year, not an active online trader, but I have meet countless awesome friendly players,
both in actual trades, and people gladly offering help for free when needed.
I'm certain that most ACNL playing members here are helpful & generous people.
As for the not so nice ones, well, you got them everywhere.
But now its all about having the best town,being rich and having your dreamies!
I had Robin move into my town once I didn't like her at first but over time I started to like her!
I don't have many Hybrids! So I just use the flowers around my town!
Nobody seems to share fruit and flowers to help people with their towns anymore its really upsetting!
To be honest I don't have millions of bells but still I have a few thousand I can live on!
So see? I just use what I have! I don't go around forcing people to give me things!
Sorry but I just had to say this it was just getting over my head way too much!
It doesn't necessarily have to be that way: they have their preferred play styles, and you have yours.
The game won't 'require' you to be Bells Crazy if you don't want to go that route.
It can totally be a leisure stroll in a lazy afternoon without a care for your PWPs or House expansions.
Yet just like real life, if you want fancier decorations around town, a roomier house,
you have to find a way to work for it.
Unless you feel like being 'pressured' into joining the, say, beetle grinding for loads of bells,
you can always choose to make whatever amounts of bells you need by turnips or breeding hybrids or fishing.
Some of us prefer to set a certain goals in game to make ourselves motivated, and enjoy that aspect of challenges.
If you go to the Train Station forum here, you will find quite a lot of players are actively seeking visitors,
or very eager to trade or give you fruits or perfect fruits for free.
"Going around forcing people to give you things" is a jerk move, and should not be tolerated at all.
The trolling, destructive behavior can sometimes be swiftly dealt with by a mere flipping of your wi-fi switch on your 3DS.
And I would agree that these same nasty behaviors ruined the game's enjoyment for most of us,
and that's why a lot of people choose to *not* leave their gates open anymore, except to trusted friends.
Sounds like you might be just experiencing a temporary 'ACNL fatique', hopefully you will feel much better by the time you are reading this. Always a good idea to take a break from whatever game you are playing,
and get some fresh air or do something else.
It keeps the fun fresh. ^__^
