so, you got raymond

Found him in the campsite after 37 tries...thought the game was gonna make me go thru every single smug before getting to Raymond (tho it almost did LOL)

it took me over 400 tickets to find him... this was before the campsite method was discovered, otherwise i would've done that instead LMAO T_T

bought him for 400 NMT... that hurted ngl, especially since it's so (relatively) easy to find him with the campsite trick now :')

Found him 150+ tickets deep in my Ketchup hunt. It was funny because I was running into every cat villager and I said to myself, “Only missing Tabby and Raymond.” And he appeared as soon as his name left my mouth! I ran into Tabby later in too lol.

I wasn’t going to keep him but he really grew on me. If I ever decide to let him move, I’ll be giving him away for free, definitely.

He was my 10th villager. It was still earlier in the game so I was running out of crafting materials. I had just placed the plot and decided to stock up on wood from mystery islands. First island I visited he was there. I wasn’t even trying for him but was super excited so I immediately asked him to move in.

Got him through the campsite method and obtained him within 2 hours (one hour of time traveling, one hour convincing him to move in). It was kinda heart wrenching having to pass up some other amazing smugs like Zell, Kyle, and Jaques >•>

In the end, he decided to move out Mira and I let him. I was kinda sad I didn’t have and uchi villager for a while (I needed one to get all the DIYs and emotions) but now I have Hazel now so it worked out ^-^

Like the pic says,Raymond was the first camper on my island.I like this cat man and I'm gonna keep him but I wouldn't spend tons of NMTs,bells or dollars to get any villager. There's plenty of other good ones out there.

My BF got Raymond as his first camper... I was going to try and convince him to give him to me, but he ended up really liking him more than me, so I’m just content to visit his island lol. He plays in Japanese and I play in English, and because names between languages are confusing we call him Business Cat.

Raymond was my second campsite villager, wasn't looking for him but I loved his design when he and the new villagers were revealed. I gasped when I stepped into that tent and saw him standing there with his lil cup of coffee lmao

I spent 30 tickets when i got my 7th plot looking for Raymond. no sale but I did get Dom :) Then one day, Goldie told me she was moving out. Love me some Goldie, but I wanted to try again.

Got him on the first ticket of the day that I had an open plot.

Oh my goooood, 86 trips?? Wow-ee that's wild. True commitment, plus all the trips to sell turnips!
Also trading on TikTok. Amazing.
I don't have Raymond, since I'm not lookin' for him. Just came for the wild stories. XD
Also, I think buying Raymond for $8 from a friend is totally legit *insert shrug emoji*.
Shoutout to all the MVPs who earned tickets by doing NM tasks, and went island hopping and legit found him on their billionth island. I'm sure it was rewarding. :)

reading through some of the stories and i can only imagine a fraction of the pain of going through the campsite method, island hopping, and even bidding in auctions.

i got strangely lucky with raymond. i use another platform for trading villagers, tumblr, since it's a much cheaper site. i had a free spot, and i didn't want another random move in (learned my lesson with lopez and admiral), so i posted that i was looking for my dreamies. at the time, i only had 2.5 million bells and some pink hybrids to offer, so that was all i could afford to trade. i listed a bunch of my dreamies, like molly, maple, genji, fang - and for the heck of it, i added raymond's name at the end of the list. i didn't think anyone would actually take my offer for raymond, but someone did message me, saying that they had raymond and that they would sell him to me. i lowkey thought it was a scam, but i still went through with it, and now i have this funky cat living on my island.

i always wonder if the seller regrets it, but i'm too scared to reach out sdadad

My friends told me I was being reckless (there's times I wasn't able to sleep because I spent the first week of the game grinding via turnips.) but I'm the type of person who's very stubborn when it comes to things or people I like. So I did it my way! The seller respected my dedication so we both persevered during the process. I made sure he's updated in case I'm taking a break to prevent anxiety as well. (Reddit is a den of scammers so I felt responsible to make sure I'm responsive!)

It's probably the last time I'd ever do that though, bells are a hassle to carry but the trader was a lovely person. There's no regrets at all!

Wow mine isn't as crazy as the others.. but it took me about 75 NMT to find him on an island (before the campsite method). My brother didn't even try and got him as a random move-in =_=

You're in for a ride, folks.

So, me, being the absolute turnip wrangler, I spent hours barging into Japanese twitter selling some turnips. I racked up 700mil and lost 50 years of my life (asking people from a different language and maintaining politeness gave me high dosage of anxiety. [JP people don't appreciate foreigners in their islands that much but will tolerate you if you're fluent in JP]) after gathering that much money (for nearly a month, I think?), I went to camp in Reddit for Raymond sellers. I found a person who were into bells more which was a big chance for me. So I offered and bid a lot.

I won the bid with the offer of 350m and 40NMT.

Now this is the stressful part. Bells aren't exactly easy to transport and I had to do 86 trips. I can't do ABD from other people's island either.
So it took me 16 hours to transport ALL of the bells + NMT. The seller was trusting and so patient and kind that I gave them extra tip for dealing with it and was honest.

It was a mess but worth it. I love Raymond and I did what I could just to get him so I'm happy it ended well. (The seller could've scammed me midway but he didn't!)

Wow that's... Wow, you're like.. A legend. Can they make a Dormire collectible?? Im really glad it all worked out for you!! I admire you.

Found him on my campsite without doing anything and took him in to host a giveaway lol

Figured my odds of getting him from either a mystery island or auction/trading were close to 0, so I dived headfirst into the campsite reset method. I‘m one of those players who has no problems with TTing. It worked out.

Spent a whole 8 hours TTing a year forward to get him to spawn at my campsite. My luck is really not great in this game and it showed! I got him though, and I’m very happy. Got lots of DIYs and mom’s items, so that’s cool.

I got him through the campsite trick. Awesome thing is I also got Dom while I was doing the trick for Raymond. So two dreamies!
