I got him at my campsite as my first camper. I also got Stitches on my first island tour. Kabuki was my first and only random move in when I made a mistake and left an open plot over night. I've been pretty lucky without meaning to.

Okay so here I go I hope y’all don’t hate me after this but I’ve tried for months now to get him I have over 500nmt 300mil bells I can clearly afford him and I have in 3 auctions 1 someone snipped and won him. Which I was soooo pressed about because like come on play fair. The other one someone offered 1k nmt and the last and final straw was when I was literally going neck and neck and the buyout was like I think 660 and the other person said if you’re gonna offer that you might as well do the buyout. I offered 550nmt and I honestly I had enough of ppl being rude , catty , and just plain nasty to each other i have never ever seen such nasty fights breakout over him. So I paid $8 to buy him from my friend who bought him from eBay because she didn’t want him anymore and just wanted her money back essentially which I was okay with! To sum it up I wouldn’t have gone that route if it wasn’t world war three just to get the damn cat! I wish ppl were more caring and civil to one another in the bids / auctions and like yes I get the ppl who are selling him on eBay are making it worse be in all honestly they wouldn’t even have a platform to make bank off of if ppl were so bat sh!t crazy over him ?? Like ?? Idk don’t hate me y’all lol

Omg thank you I’m not alone !! I felt so bad doing it but honestly like I was so flustered / upset with how hostile the community got

I've seen a lot of people saying they hated doing the campsite trick, but I loved it and wanted to do it again after! It was so relaxing to watch some youtube and flick through the campsites, and every time a new camper showed up I felt that old joy I felt when I was younger seeing a camper arrive in new leaf. I spent about 6 hours on it on and off so I think I got relatively lucky compared to other people but I gotta say I kinda wish it went on longer.
I was thinking of trying for Judy too but there's ~60 snooties compared to ~30 smugs so I decided not to take the dive on that one lol

oh and also I got a ton of Mom's items in the process, which was rad

Also did Island hopping before I had an idea of the campsite method. Spent 600 tickets hopping from island to island but I did get Wolfang and Judy from them! Also, a pretty cool table of data on island hopping.

Then I did some more hopping and got the first Peppy I saw to get every personality. Then... 5 campsite visitors in, and I find Raymond the day after my ingame birthday!
