So, Smash WiiU can break your system?

Apparently there's a fun new problem floating around with the new Smash on WiiU that can literally leave your entire system unusable.


Apparently nobody who has had this happen to them can point to a possible reason to why this happens atall, and there seems to be no 'common thing' between each 'malfunction' at all (unlike people getting banned online which was quickly linked to Peach)...But I don't really fancy taking the chance of being one of those people and having to get my somewhat 'brand new' WiiU sent in for repairs.



What do you guys think of this? Willing to take the chance, or are you going to cry a little bit as you put Smash Bros to one side and wait for an update to fix this 'literal' game breaking bug?

Not sure what I should tell my brother since he's the one who plays smash brothers and owns the wii u. Is it downloading the update that breaks it, or deleting the update data?

That's disapointing... Basically going to put Smash Bros on hold. I'd love to play, but if there's a chance that it could brick the Wii U itself, I'm not going to take that chance just to get my ass kicked online.

Thanks for the heads-up! I can access to both Super Smash Bros. and Data Management just fine, as I practically never touched For Glory mode. Also, the icon keeps pulsating in blue since a few days ago and it won't go away, just in case if it's related to that system-breaking issue.

I'm not sure exactly what causes it, nobody seems to know, apparently not even Nintendo. Just starting the game could cause it, or even going into 'game data' if the article is to be believed :/

People are saying that it's linked to 'for Glory' mode, but I would hold back until it's been confirmed that that's exactly where the issue is since it could still be literally anything else.

More than likely so since it would be a known fault caused by Nintendo, especially if it's in warranty.

Yea...I was actually playing the game whilst browsing the internet between loading screens when I came upon that article. I pretty much just took out the game straight away -.- I was enjoying it too

I can still get on Smash but I didn't check data management in case I was one of the unlucky ones xD I've done quite a bit of 'For Glory', which makes me a little bit more cautious.
