So... slight predicament, I guess?

So, my recent move-out was Snake (finally), which left me without a Jock villager. I still have his plot open, but I haven't really met a villager on mystery tours that clicked with me, but I have a campsite visitor today.

That visitor is Dom. On one side, he's Jock. On the other, he's a 'popular' villager and I don't really want to be judged for having 'popular' villagers, but I wouldn't mind having a Sheep villager for once. So.. should I invite him? Thoughts? I dunno.

Bonus question: if I invite a villager from a mystery tour, can I still invite Dom should I choose to do so? I know you can make them ask a random villager leave but can this be done with a plot already claimed?

Eh, I've been harassed in the pass for having popular villagers in New Leaf. Kinda just don't want to see it again. Kills the motivation, you know?

I wouldn't take what other people think into account when it comes to villagers, they're there for you, not for others! If you want Dom then you should totally invite Dom.

If you like him go for it! I have the infamous accountant cat but I haven’t gotten any flack for it (Admittedly I do have him mostly as a meme tho). I wouldn’t let popularity get in the way of who you want, in either direction!

I suppose I can take him, though does anyone know if you can invite campers to your island if you have a claimed plot but no room? I know you can already, but I don't know if having a claimed plot would cause some issues or not.

If you like him, then I think you should invite him! If someone wants to judge others based on how popular or unpopular their villagers are, then that's on them. I like the villagers that I like, and no one else's opinion of them will affect that

You can still invite a campsite villager even after you fill the open slot with mystery island villager. We just did this a couple of weeks ago. But it was really hard to replace the villager you wanted out. Took us more than one hour to get our 2nd choice! And we ran out of steam so just replaced that one

I don't mess with mystery island tours, too much grind not enough pay out. Or any good payout really.

If you like him def get him. He's super cute esp when he does zoomies. If later you decide he isn't for you then you can let him leave. Better to have him then get bored rather then not have him and regret not getting him later.

If you like him then go for it, I think the worst thing is picking up someone you don't like. if you aren't sure, nothing wrong with taking him temporarily! I did that with Cyd and I ended up not liking him so I just picked someone else instead! Its the way meeting new animals works really

I'd say get him! other players' opinions shouldn't really matter as long as you like the villager yourself and it sounds like you do! He's super cute and will help you get the jock villager reactions so I say go for it, and you can always replace him with another campsite villager in the future.

As for the first question, don’t be bothered what others think about your villagers. Most of them are adorable! As long as you like it and seems you need that personality, why not go ahead?

...Then again, DO NOT INVITE HIM IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIM. It'll make things easier because you won't need to find a jock... BUT! If you don't like him, then leave him. NEVER take villagers because of popularity levels or...well, other people's opinions, though I know you asked us to share ours. My opinion that I shared is merely what I'd do in such a case, honestly you don't have to do it, though. Seriously, it pisses me off when I see people take 'popular' villagers merely because they're popular.

I had no idea people judged others based on the villagers they liked or didn't like. I just do what makes me happy in game as it's for me, not others. If people judge, that's their issue I guess?

You should take him if you like him whether he’s popular or not! I personally love his facial expressions and it’s so cute to see him zoom around haha

also you should be able to invite him, he just can’t replace the claimed plot so he’ll kick out one of your other 9 villagers (you can reset for this if you don’t make a choice and reset when he gives a name)

I honestly don't care about popularity very much. There are both popular and unpopular villagers I like and I just want them in my town regardless. I can see what you mean, because it can get tiring to see the same villagers everywhere, but just a couple of popular villagers among less popular ones won't make your town a cliche.

Plus, some villagers are just popular for a reason that isn't just hype, so it's understandable that you'd like them. Dom seems really different from other Jocks so I can see why you and others like him so much.

Yeah,Dom is kind of popular but he isn't at that Raymond level of popularity.Dom was one of my starters so I had no idea what kind of a villager he was going to be but he's turned out to be one of my favorites.He's the jock for people who don't like jocks.

I visited a Dream Island a few days ago that had nine villagers I’d never seen on any other island, some of whom I never heard of ever, and then the tenth was Raymond. Like, even with Raymond there, that was the most obscure lineup I’ve ever seen. I guess my point is like who you like, anyone who judges you is probably the same kind of person who starts fights in YouTube comments

So I did end up inviting Dom, but I did 1 Mystery Tour to see who it was before I did so and it was Bob which sucks since I have too many lazy villagers already, rip.
