It's perfectly valid to have sentimental attachment over a game! When I time traveled too much in New Leaf and lost some of my favorite villagers, I cried actual tears. This game is designed to be a life simulator, so it's kind of like losing real-life friends and possessions.
 
Not silly at all! While I don't personally get that upset when I reset, I totally see why someone might. I think there are few games that really get you as attached and emotionally invested as Animal Crossing. Especially with all the chaos in the world right now, those little animals can end up meaning a lot to you 🥰

There's no shame if you decide to step away from the game for a bit. Though, it's also possible that settling in and trying to make an even better island may help, too. But you do whatever works for you, and know there's no reason to be embarrassed about getting upset- video games are designed to tug at your emotions. And ones with adorable animals tend to do it especially well... at least for me 😅
