I'm trying the plot reset trick for the first time. After Zucker plonked his lazy butt right in front of my police station, I decided I'm not taking anymore chances with the rest of my dreamies.

I'm about an hour in and she keeps putting her house in the WORST places. She seems to love the area right behind my mayors house (she's tried to get in there at least a dozen times) and if its not there then she plops down in the most awkward-looking spaces ever.

This about sums up what I'm dealing with, LOL:
(Sorry for crappy iPhone photo)

Where's the worst place your villagers have settled?!

ahhh before i started plot reseting fang moved right on my path but thats pretty hilarious. now my town is rainbow themed and the villagers have to go in the right sections (e.g. merengue in red) and sometimes they just. dont. want. to. beau was pretty bad took me many hours before he finally settled in yellow

Well, I forgot to check for a plot and I have Muffy moving in in the same spot as in your photo - just after my one bridge. >_< Well...at least I like Muffy!

For me its a tie between right in front of my house and right in front of a bridge. Seriously, why? There is so much free space. Sigh.

My villagers like to plot either right in front of my house or only just off where I want them.

a trick you should do is put bells on the areas you don't want you your villager plotting on! It worked for me and made the process a whole lot easier!

Oh, wow. That sounds intense xD I'm definitely visiting your dream town soon! :) Sounds very cool.

Ah, that?s the worst! The things we put up with for our dreamies? lol

Right?! Why is it so difficult >.<

?
You are a genius! I have never thought to do that?. I settled on a placement that wasn?t exactly what I wanted, but wasn?t terrible either. I am definitely trying your method out next time, though! *.* Thanks for that! :)

Ohmygosh that is quite the terrible placement! Luckily I haven't had any super bad placements =3 Renee moved in knocking out 3 persimmon trees and Punchy (though I no longer have him so its not a problem) moved in an area I just finished placing paths on to make a little park out of~

That's a good idea! Though I would have to place so very many bells T-T

I have only plot reset once, because normally I don't. Kind of glad I did, because Melba was plopped down right on my main path.

Hi! Sorry she's giving you so much trouble. Pietro actually parked his house right where hers was when she lived here. :)

Don't apologize! I eventually got her in a great spot in-line with Pashmina :)
I'm so glad! Take good care of that creepy little clown-sheep haha

when im plot resetting they always plot there houses where I have bushes *facepalm*

They looovvveeee to do this kind of things... Renee smack her house right in the middle of an intersection .. and right in front of a bridge.

I have to let her go ....

I did not know villagers could build their house on layed out paths. That is indeed frustrating.

Where do I even begin... before I started plot resetting they pretty much did exactly like Skye is here. From on top of my path to in the middle of my carnation garden in front of my town hall. but this takes the cake. Although I have had some pretty great placements without plot resetting, and the last 3 times I've done it they've been in a good spot on the first try. :)

that's such a great idea! I gotta try that next time!

The one villager I had trouble with a bad location was when Sylvia moved right in front of my side character's house. It was also directly in front of a bridge. She's long gone, though.

Cherry moved in recently but she didn't set up in a "bad" spot. I would have preferred for her to settle on the west side of town, which is pretty bare, but she moved in the cluster of 3 houses on the crowded east side of town. I guess it's kind of a cute little area but it has a lot of traffic.

I should try the bell trick when I get my 10th villager from camping! I'd never heard of that method before, only the PWP placement method. : O

I never plot resetted for my villagers. It turned out pretty good and I made it work... All except for Lolly, my last one.
Lolly put her house in front of town hall, but there's enough room to put a pwp there... large.jpg
