I'm not sure how to describe how I feel right now, but I strangely want to reset my game..

Which is (like i said) strange, because I love my town! it has the perfect town status (however, it does not LOOK perfect) and it has cute villagers (Peanut, Lolly, Aurora, Tabby, And more) but i just feel bored with it.. and i feel like i want to reset it.. start out with NEW villagers! NEW town layout NEW character.. but by doing that, ill lose everything that i have right now.. the PWP's, my villagers, my perfect town status, and the stores by mainstreet.. so i dont know why i feel like resetting.. i guess i want to start out new..? what do YOU think i should do? Start out new and follow my urge to reset? or keep the everything that already have? Thank you for reading! <3

I think the decision to rebuild your town is a personal one and should be made by you specifically. That being said, from my experience, rebuilding my town is what made me start playing again after a year-long hiatus. I simply became too unhappy with my old town, and I wanted a fresh start. The difference is that when I restarted my town, I had completely made up my mind. After all my favorite villagers moved from my old town, I lost almost all attachment I had towards it. You still seem conflicted, so I would advise to consider this very carefully as there is no going back.

Okay! Thank you for replying to me. Now that i think of it my town isn't that great and resetting everything could be fun. however, things like getting PWP's back and getting hybrids back may take time. but i think that it is worth it! Once again, thanks for replying <3

Personally I was in your shoes! My old town had my favorite villager, Octavian, but even then, I felt sick of it. So, I sold it to Nook. I'm not gonna lie, for the first few days I felt nothing but regret. Nothing was going right and I never thought I'd get the villagers I wanted... But with patience and work, my town is slowly turning into something amazing! Heck, I can hardly remember all of my old town's villagers. I'm currently getting my last few dreamies and moving on to all of my desired PWPs. If you do reset and feel regret, don't fret! It's probably temporary.

My best advice is to think about the permanent things and go from there. Things like PWPs, town status, etc, may be hard to restore, but achievable. However town map, things like the way the river runs, grass pattern, native fruit, etc obviously aren't - so it all depends what you're looking for in a town you love and if you think you can easily enough get a better map than your current one - of course this is my opinion! Good luck whatever you do :)

Resetting is a permanent change. The only differences between your old map and your (supposed) new map is the amount of new ideas you have, the new places you can put things, and the new villager cycle. If you find that you dislike your current map, if you haven't thought of anything to do with your current map, and you want to try out different villagers then I think resetting is a good option for you.

If you find that you can come up with new ideas then I would stick with your current map. You can always get rid of every PWP, tree, flower, and path and find a new theme. You can still get rid of your villagers and find new ones. If you do decide to redo your entire town, then focus on little areas instead of the entire area (unless your pathing). I find that when I focus on an area it tends to come out well. If you love your map but are feeling kinda bored with your town, and are willing & motivated to redo it, then I would just keep it.

If you aren't having fun and can't come up with any new goals, then reset. If you can find a new thing to chase after in an old town, then I would stay with what you have.

You could always just buy another copy. New Leaf is dirt cheap now that it's one of the Nintendo Selects. But of course, it's your choise. Resetting can always be refreshing.

you could buy another copy of animal crossing and then just keep your original cartridge somewhere safe, while you work on the other town. but i guess this choice is completely up to you on whether you want to or not. restarting can always be fun and exciting too :D

I’ve reset my second town twice in the last two years. I think if you have that looming feeling of wanting to reset, you should! but of course only if you’re sure of that. also, you can keep your catalogue and everything too! I just recently found that out when resetting.

I own three copies (2 digital) and am getting a fourth... I can't bear the thought of getting rid of one of the towns.

Honestly, I don't regret resetting my town, even though I loved what it was. I'm having so much fun building a new one and giving myself new challenges. The only thing I was upset about when it came to resetting was that I had to build my museum back up again. But I'm nearly there with the bugs and halfway there with the fish, and the fossils and art are just a waiting game.

Resetting is totally up to you, but since you have the option of selling to Tom Nook, I would say go for it if you're bored with your town.

Another voice chiming in on getting a second copy--a new WA cartridge is about US$20, with or without an RV card, on Amazon.

Personally, if I would get bored with my current town and I have that feeling that I want to
reset, then I would just go for it. I did this a few times and never regret it. Sure, you would
lose all your things, villagers and such. Then again, it's not like that you can't get all this back.
Maybe someone can also hold some items for you that you don't want to lose. After all, it's
up to you. If you ask me, I would say reset and start with a fresh new town.

Alternative, you could also buy a second copy of the game, so you could keep your current
town and could start a new one on the other copy. That would be also a option and the game
isn't that expensive anymore since it's now part of the Nintendo Selects.
