Shorter battery life after terraforming

So I kept my island basically stock until i got enough stuff and the capability to terraform. Im ocd about battery life so when i got my switch last month, i noted that fresh off the charger, 1 hour and 30 minutes of playing would take it down to 76 or 77 percent. i spent all day the other day terraforming, adding several multi level waterfalls and adding levels to make a fish display. made one single water fall that runs to a stream that makes a circle around a villagers house (moat) and added some statues and put my fish out and added stuff and made my beach all lively with a ferris wheel etc. Put my trex statue outside on a level, etc. Now, im noticing slightly less battery life. after an hour and a half, im not at 74 or 73, sometimes 72. Basically 3 or 4 percent battery life loss in the same amount of playtime. could it be from all the changes i done to my town? Like it makes it work harder to process everything? Im still seeing the same battery life as before for other games, nothing has changed there. And im still getting the same standby battery drain as before when the switch is just sitting around. the only thing that has changed is for animal crossing.

You’re probably right in your assessment. More stuff in your island means the game is working harder to process everything, which uses up more battery. Doing more intense activities like terraforming will also use more resources. I don’t think it’s that bad if it’s just 3-4% less.

Not unless if you go to dream islands where there is so much going on and the game is struggling to load all the assets. It can drain your battery faster.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was panicking at first because I thought something was going wrong with my new switch with the drop in percentage like that. I guess it's the new normal for my game after tricking out my island 😄

Im curious to see how much it drops when a friend comes to visit my town, how much of a drain it will be using wifi

Honestly, I never noticed this before. But it felt like the game was slower/taking longer shortly after terraforming, so that makes sense.
