I'm wondering about making a 2nd character, mainly for Redd… But atm I'm not sure yet how I'd fit them in my island headcanons? So ig I'm just waiting for inspiration :'D
Having more rooms would be nice… I don't have that many ideas for rooms for now, but I'm sure my brain will manage it at some point lmao

I'm thinking about it, mainly for storage and more rooms to decorate. I want to my make my house mostly fantastical spaces, so it would be nice to have the second house for an actual house with more practical rooms. Finding a good spot for the house is a different matter entirely, and a big part of why I haven't taken the plunge yet.

I'm not in a hurry to get all the DIYs, art, etc., but I don't feel like having one extra villager would speed things up too unreasonably.

I created a second one about a week ago! Mainly to get twice the bottles, DIY recipes from Celeste & art from Redd.
Also so I can have my house as an actual house, then use the second one to have fun with the rooms and get creative. It's a tent on the beach rn as I'm not sure where to fit it in my island yet.
I don't use the 2nd account every day though, but it's nice to have it when I have the time.
It is WEIRD though because it DOES feel like it's not "me" playing, if that makes sense? Like, I play "her". But it's actually quite fun, I don't really have a backstory or anything but to me both my characters have slightly different personnalities that I've not defined but I just know haha.
Anywayyy. I don't think there's much downside, except if your island is REALLY crowded and you can't fit the 2nd house/tent.

I have two other characters that I have on my island <3 I plan on making a diner and a band room/arcade for my villagers!
Other than that, I usually play as my main character (me).

I have 2 characters:Chara and Kris(From Undertale/Deltarune) My main reason for choosing Undertale is so that I can eventually make the eight humans(with Kris being Patience) I'm waiting to make the rest later through. I recommend making someone you know IRL, or your OC/Favorite character if you can't decide who to make.

I set up a second character recently because I realized that I really like all the beachy chill themed stuff I've seen people doing and wanted to do something similar, but my main character is more of a dark oddities recluse kinda person so I did the sensible thing and I overhauled 3/4 of my island so I could give the new character a designated beach town area to live in complete with boardwalk arcade and surf shop and in the process decided to make it even harder and more obscure to reach the home of my main character for the added "keep out" factor lol.
It can be annoying switching between them, but its definitely helpful as far as storage, and design flexibility, and with collecting art and being able to help with ordering things from the catalog.
I don't think of my main character as myself... not quite... but also if I'm being honest, I'm a multifaceted person, I like oddities and privacy, but also sun and plants and the beach so they could kinda both be part me?

My daughter has a character but she doesn't play much so I use it for buying Redd art, Celeste DIYs, and extra storage, although I don't have the house upgraded very much yet.

i have two alts, mainly for NMT and storage, since i get both flick and cj so rarely and i was running out of space to stash things...

I plan on adding my partner into my own island so we can play together in the same island, even though he has his own game on his switch lite. haha

But also I'll be using his character as extra storage for designs :V

Just me, alone. Single profile for a single game on the AC:NH Switch. My kids can do what they want with my original release Neon Switch, with its Joycon drift and missing kickstand, so as long as they leave dad's Switch alone.

I'm the only character on my island. My sister wants to play the game, but at the same time doesn't want to have to use my island so I don't have to worry about her making a character, and I don't want to make a second character myself at this time (even if the extra storage space would be very nice right about now, lol).

I play by myself right now. I don't have any plans to make a second villager unless I come up with a big decorating idea that would require having an extra house or if I run out of storage!

I think it could also be fun if you want to challenge yourself to go through the home loan process again, except without using the turnip market or without using CJ/Flick or whatever other restrictions you want to put on yourself. You'd also get extra DIY recipes this way (though that's not something I really need right now).

I only have one but plans for four more :> Three of those are OCs, the last will have a tourist information/café/store type of house.

I just really need a lot of houses. :p

I made a second character for Redd, and the extra money rock, money tree and DIY bottle is a nice bonus.

This character is also useful for getting extra Gulliver items, and for seeing if someone wants to move out since I barely talk to villagers on her.

My SO has a house on my island next to my house, he paid off his first mortgage so it's no longer a tent, but he doesn't play it as often as I do.

At the moment I just use his one to get more art from Reed(also that sweet extra storage!) If he doesn't play at all in the future, I might just convert his house to the official Nook Inc employee accommodation.

I play as two characters! They’re actually the same two characters I made in Wild World as a kid, so I’m coming up with a backstory and everything lol. My secondary character Viola is a doctor, so I’m planning on turning her house into the island clinic! Logistically, it’s not too bad, but I do find that I only play my secondary for the daily rewards/money tree or if a villager is crafting something valuable. It has been great to be able to buy more art from Redd, too! I’d say it’s worth it, but storage will be the big issue if you want them to remain in a tent...

I have one extra character. It wasn't planned, I actually wanted just one, but I've come to realize that I could really use extra storage and space to display more things, so I ended up creating one this month. Switching between them is a little annoying, but since it's only one character, I'm willing to deal with it.
