Sailor Moon Crystal

The animation seems to run smoothly, in my opinion, so I was just wondering what exactly you mean. :)

Ah yeah, sorry, you're right; it's the art, not the animation itself. :) Though the last episode was full of rather weird angles and such (it did look a lot like Tuxedo Mask was looking at Sailor Moon's chest at some point...), so I've been using "animation" in general, I guess.

It depends from one episode to another, really. The previous one (with Jupiter) was great. This one, however, was not. Apparently the episodes have different directors? There were a few specific images I wanted to show, but ack, I can't find them anymore. :(

And it's not all bad; the Senshi fighting was actually awesome! So glad to see they can do more with their powers than was shown in the original anime!

Next episode tomorrow and it should be interesting.

You REALLY should have just kept this on the anime thread buuut

After it came out, the animation is terrible. Usagi lost all of her expressiveness, the animation is stiff, she only really makes one face half the time to maintain the "pretty heroine" stereotype. Their anatomy proportions are awful, although anime usually messes up the proportions a lot. I can't watch the reboot it was so poorly made and lost all of the magic that made sailor moon what it was, all because of poor animation. I also heard it got even worse with Usagi being rescued and not doing as much on her own.

That's exactly how I felt with SMC.

I know it has a weak budget since it's internet only and has NO sponsors compared to the original.
It lacks that magic that the original had, expressiveness. We got that a few times, but that's mostly on Luna and nobody else.
And the animation quality can be terrible at times (especially episode 3), it really just ruins the quality of the reboot.

The DVD releases fixed the animation quality...but that should have been fixed since the episode's airing and not on DVD.

Oh Toei Animation, you screwed up again.

I really enjoyed the episode! I especially loved how close it was to the manga, yet there were differences. One is quite obvious, but there were some other smaller things that I really liked. I'm really looking forward to the next episodes!

I wasn't a fan of the old anime, but I was /DEFINITELY/ a fan of the manga. I used to get the manga from my library and stay up all night reading it! I'm actually really glad they're sticking closer to the source material, and I watched one of the newer episodes to see how it's going. The creator, (I forget her name, sorry), I've heard also has more of a say of what's happening in the show this time around, which is another reason I think it's going to be a lot better then the old one.

No, it's only available in English sub at the moment. I think they're working on one but it probably won't be out until after the full series is complete.

Based on the new dub for the original anime, I'd say it's probably best that they haven't dubbed it yet.

I have to agree with you here. Although it does beat the very first original dub (Usagi's voice made me want to rip my hair out, ehh), in my opinion. I only rewatched the first episode of the dub remake just to see what it was like.

I watched 2 episodes of the new Viz dub and it's great.

Definetly better than the DiC and Cloverway dub, though some of the voices are odd (Shingo's voice sounds way too old for an elementary school kid), but other than that, it's great!

Also, SMC Artemis is weird.

It's probably the green eyes..

Is there any way/site I can see this new dub? I'm in Europe so I'm not sure what site I should look for. ^_^'
