Smash Bros Roy/Ryu Leak

I'd like Roy back if there is a significant difference between him and Marth. As for Ryu, I don't want any more third party characters. I'm also not a fan of that kind of fighting style.

And either you're taking me literally when I say 'full-on clone' or you just think everyone who's even somewhat clone-ish is a clone. And that's fine. It's up to interpretation.

Lucas is still listed as a semi-clone. While that may be under the same umbrella term, it's not to the extent of those examples. But whatever, I guess a fighter who was going to be a costume alt is more unique than someone who was originally going to replace Ness.

Also, notice how their pages, it even says those fighters were clones? Yeah.

Lucas is simply a download of the character data, so to avoid having another balance update (which it was mentioned that this was supposed to be the last one), wouldn't they have to put in all the data now?

Mewtwo is simply just a download of the character's moves. With an update, the core files of the game is changed, which includes things like the sounds, etc. This is why it would make sense why Lucas' sound data is implemented because he was already announced, and he is also just another download. They mentioned that this would be the last balance update in awhile, so to avoid adding in a whole other update just for Lucas, they included it now.

So many hours spent playing Street Fighter II and he was my main man of course.
I think he'd make a good fit for the roster!

Sheesh, you're more bent out of shape than I supposedly am, chill. I don't care about the clones, tiers are for queers, and Melee's got nothing on Sm4sh or even Brawl. I'm not competitive in the slightest, I just main Lucas and wanted to point out he's not a carbon copy of Ness. Relax.

Seriously though, how many other people questioned the developer's ability to think when they kept introducing clones as separate playable characters?

When I first saw Alph has an alt costume for Olimar I thought they would have applied this to other characters *cough dr mario, lucina, dark pit, and even other characters that could have been in the game*

Thing is they did give Pit a Dark Pit costume. But then they go around and have an actual Dark Pit character, and to rub it in everyone's faces, gave him a normal Pit costume. I get that the Kid Icarus series is Sakurai's little baby but damn, don't waste potential in your other games for being self-sentimental.


Other than that, I'd be pretty alright with Ryu being in the game. Roy not so much, but as long as after Lucas we don't get any more clones I'll be alright with whatever they do.

Wasn't Jigglypuff one of the best fighters in Melee, but she got nerfed and now she's a joke?
