I've got the regular living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. This leaves me with two rooms (the small back room + basement) and too many ideas. I'm thinking:

Library/study
Tea room
Plant room
Cat cafe

Any other ideas? May have to take some of these to Harv's island.

I have a full on forest as my bedroom lol. I can send pics if you’d like...also I have a metropolitan office that I’m really proud of in my north room.

Ooh, I love your idea of a cat cafe! I haven’t heard of anyone doing that yet, and it would be a great way to roll the tea room into it. I personally like the idea of a study as well. I recently redid one of my side rooms to be a sunroom/study for myself. Not a traditional office space, but more of a relaxing spot I would actually love to work in IRL.

Note the kitchenette space and kettle boiling, to feed my constant need for tea ☕

Another completely different idea could a be a games room/lounge. A place where you might hang out with friends, watch some TV, place some foosball, etc... :)

@SmrtLilCookie That looks like such a cozy little sitting room, love all the greenery and natural light. Great idea about meshing the tea room and cat cafe together. Now to decide if I want it in my house, or outdoors on the island..

Omg this just looks so extremely cozy, I want this room in my IRL house now lmao. And in my opinion, I think it'd look super chill if you just combined the cat cafe with the tea room, so you can drink tea and play with cats at the same time! Plus from what i've seen of the white cat tower and cat bed items in game, they should fit right in with the furniture in the picture above.

For the library idea, you can actually use the wooden bookshelf item to block the door going into the library room, as the game still lets you squeeze through a little hidden corner gap. Then it could be like a secret area from one of those movies, where you pull a book and it slides open :0 that idea seems really cool to me haha. If you're stuck deciding between the library and another idea for a room though, I have seen a lot of really cool outdoor libraries that look absolutely amazing, so you don't have to put the library in your house. Plus, that way you'd have more space, as trust me when I say that there are a lot of in game items pertaining to books/desks/computer that you could put in a library (and that way when you see your villagers reading a book, you can always imagine that they borrowed it from the library!).

I have this sort of a penthouse room and kitchen/dining that doubles as a cafe on my main character's house, then a plant room/garden on one of my alt. characters.

Whoa! Im out of words again.. SYMMETRICAL indeed!

The furniture, the wall items are so perfect.

No one could pull this off like you did :) I won't be suprised if someone takes inspiration from these. lol

Man, i really hope they add in bigger room upgrades for the side rooms. Imagine how much potential there would be to decorate all these fun ideas!

I turned my basement into an underwater room! It's perfect for the new mermaid furniture and shell stuff! I'm planning on turning my smaller back room into a library/office area too.

Something I've been thinking about doing to my own main room (which you can do too!) is make it into an outdoor courtyard, and moving my living room to one of the side rooms. I feel like this could be really cool, and its definitely something I want to try. Perhaps the mortar wall would be good here because it looks like the zen fence!

I turned my back room into a tearoom. My basement however is a mess because I haven’t decided what to do with it yet and I have a bunch of spare clothes hanging on the wall because I’m out of storage space

I made my basement into a beachy witch room. I used the tropical vista and starry-beach floor, palm tree lamps in the corners, a kettle bath for a cauldron, and some beachy accessories. It isn't fancy, but I love going down there. It's very different from the rest of my house, which is very true to life.

Try not to use ideas that everyone else does. I mean, nothing wrong if you do, but it's much more fun making something that's totally "you!" My left room is a garage/workshop. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else do something like that. My right wing is a game/library/DND room, still in progress. My back room is like an outdoor garden area and I kinda hate it cuz I feel like everyone has one of those. My upstairs is like a fancy lounge/restaurant. Basement is... Not anything lol.pQ

I just made a beachy bedroom in my back room and a science lab in one of the side rooms. Bit nerdy, but there were so many science-y items I couldn't resist! Do wish the side rooms could be bigger though.. maybe in the future :O
